Call of Duty then and now

You might enjoy what Call of Duty is offering nowadays with Black Ops 6 and the recent titles filled with flashy operator skins and wild crossovers.

But I come from an era where cosmetics didn’t matter—where it was just you, your loadout, and some gritty, grounded combat. Back in the days of Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and Black Ops 1, you didn’t need flashy outfits to stand out. Now it’s starting to feel more like Fortnite with these outlandish, often immersion-breaking additions that stray from the war game roots.

Realistically speaking, no matter how shady the system appears, it’s printing money for the companies behind it. I’ve completely lost interest in the current direction of the series.
