I have showed an example shader tree which works for the >10 year-old asset.  Here, I show how to add the second skin body suit in a layer on top of the base layer.  

The body suit texture came as part of the character set.  As you can see, back in the early days, the second skin was painted onto the body texture first.  Nowadays, we can use transparency maps and more complex shader trees, plus procedural textures.
