This is powerful. I remember the first time I saw it, I stared for a good while.
I feel like it is loud, and has an impact that lasts.

Great shot, composition, depth of field, and mood. It is both playful and disturbing at the same time - quite an accomplishment!

This is a powerful image. It's not just haunting - it's something more. I just don't have any words for it. And when there are no words to properly describe an image, the photographer has achieved something amazing. Excellent.

I'm attracted by how, the longer I look, the eerier it seems. It feels like the woman is about to fall over.

It freaks me right out. I like it.

Yes, haunting it is.

She (that's my working assumption) is so lithe with her hair streaming down while he (again, my assumption) seems blocklike, almost a caricature, not quite anchored to the surface.

She is so alive, as if she has been washed clean; he, a zombie.

I keep coming back to this one, not sure whether I like it or dislike it.

It seems so dark and dity...and something like a cave that gives me the heebeejeebies. But, then again, its like looking into that cave and wondering "What's in there that is giving me that haunting feeling?". It makes me want to look deeper.

Just a simple greyscale conversion to b/w and a touch of contrast, nothing else.
Though it was hardly necessary as the original is mostly b/w
with just some hints of green and greyish-blue.
Here's the original:

you have an amazing way to picture fountains ([link]), you manage to make water "airy" and dancing.
i'm afraid i can't be more clear but you create a very strange atmosphere, one that i definitely love

great work :blowkiss:

Oh my god, this is holy indeed :) It's one of those images you only come across rarely, it's got so much power. Kinda has an Adam and Eve after the fall feel to it. Love it.

I don't know about "holy," but as a photograph, it sure approaches miraculous, and so skilled that I am dumbstruck by its power. Such a strong image. Please let me know if this one will ever be available as a print. Of course, there is always the risk that hanging it on one of my walls would just blow visitors right back out the door, but I'd be happy to take that risk.
Hope all goes well.

Well, I just loaded my printer full of ink - damn, it's so expensive!
But if you'd still like a print of this 'hot-off-the-press' I'd happy to oblige.
(Still going on 'donation-basis' for print sales)
And thank you! I was also 'dumbstruck by its power' - great way to put it.
I couldn't stop looking at it and going back to it and looking again.
It has a haunting quality that so very much drew me in.

Oo, and i like yr Ernst Haas quote... very very true.

well hello, old friend! you're still around.. wow... thought you were long gone.
so good to hear from you. HOW ARE YOU??!!

things have been crazy busy with me mostly due to school.
i'm just ending my 2nd quarter on monday and it's so all-consuming.
can't wait to be freeeeee alllll summer!!

are you still on msn ever?
let's catch up! :D

haha, now you know what I'm going through each time I'm busy. but I'm very happy to hear you're taking it serious (not that I thought that you wouldn't) and nothing went wrong.
my right eye has finally gone crazy from too much work. It feels like there is a matte glass glued onto it. I hope it will go away after this period is over. I also need a walking stick to walk right now. ankle strain and plaster cast, but no pain, nothing to worry about

well, I keep checking the new stuff once in a while, but I've been way too busy to take any pictures. This is also my last busy week or so, then I'll be free for at least a few weeks. Then I'll be on msn much more often, and let's do catch up :)
