Whilst investigating the death of a local swordsman, an outgoing detective called Atiko Okawa uncovers a legend about a cursed blade circulating throughout Toronto. As soon as anyone uses the blade, he or she has exactly 124 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look distorted. A marked person feels frozen when touched
Atiko gets hold of the blade, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a beautiful fox alongside a swordsman, an old newspaper headline about a drunk driving accident, and a coyote drinking at a lake in a forest.
When Atiko notices her fingers have Wolf-like properties, she realises that the curse of the blade is true and calls in her sister, a detective called Socha Okawa, to help.
Socha examines the blade and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before her eyes. She finds the beautiful fox with a swordsman particula
