Eid Mubarak!
May Allah accepts from you and us, and may we be tha part of the people who return to purity and the people who are granted victory.
Well, about the stuffs on the Javanese alphabet that reads
Sugeng Riyadi and the greeting, من العاءدين و الفاءزين , I've already explainded in the
artwork for Eid 1433H (2012).
Well, that's 6 years ago

I actually used a lineart that was planned for Eid 1434H as the base for this one, so I've got to fix it here and there, although it still looks rough in some areas. But rather than letting it stay as WIP forever, it is better to just use it now

So, what's the deal with those diamond-shaped green stuffs?
It is called
ketupat in Indonesian, or
kupat in Javanese. It is a dumpling made from rice packed inside a pouch made from
janur, woven young leaf of coconut palm. In Indonesia, ketupat is highly associated to Eid-ul Fitr day. Some kind of a must-have (or must-serve, or must-eat! ^^ ) on the day, served as staple food, as the replacement of plain steamed rice.
Kupat comes from "ku" (from the word
ngaku, admitting) and "pat" (from the word
lepat, mistake), meaning
admitting one's mistake, in accordance to the tradition of
halal bi halal, asking forgiveness and forgiving others' wrongdoings, during and several days after Eid al-Fitr Day.
[id] P.S.: Mohon maaf lahir dan batin, ya.. ^^
