Humanity: the only species to create people who fret about fictitious species, and other people who kill real species. Yes, the latter is the worst thing ever, but the former group is more awesome than any other animal. I mean, showing concern over an animal who isn't even real. Seriously.

It can train us to be more concerned about the real deal. Worldbuilding isn't a escape
but a intense preoccupation with reality.

I agree, stories have been like that since the beginning of storytelling.  look at brothers grim, humanity is Hansel and Gretel, the candy house is planet earth and her resources, and the witch is war, famine, and pollution. The evil stepmother is donald strump, most of humanity is gretel, who is most of ratonal humanity, who is trying to escape death, and survive carefully. hansel is people who take it in the opposite direction, they are the antinatalist groups like vhemt, who give up trying to survive... nah, i'm looking WAY too deeply into it.

This is pretty cool, seems like the species now lives in a few, isolated populations though. :P

Isn't there a dragon reserve in Romania?

And in Norway from what I hear.

Okay, I didn't know that but there's plenty of room for something like that in Norway

Its almost like humans do not like flying predators that attack people and when they can do something about it...
Hyrotrioskjan's avatar

That's the problem, they normally don't attack people.
asaenvolk's avatar
But do they attach children?  That is likely, do they attack livestock?  There is a reason that dangerous animals that don't normally attack adults were still seen as dangerous and dealt with.
