This is so cool, I've studied paleontology for a while and never heard of this dino, how complete a skeleton was found?

We know that Irritator and Spinosaurus had a small crest on the head, so why not Oxalaia too.

Ooooohhh.... Brazilian. Does he use his spotty sail and stripey face to join in the carnivals in Rio de Janerio??

Indeed, and the sail is impressive enough, so the visitors don't see how he eat the dancers ;)

You have a very good job, the Oxalaia is more a kind of incredible family spinosaurideos. I'm also doing an illustration for his promotion of this new species, so far, few fossils were found.

But beautiful work, as always. I think you could even illustrate a whole book.

Yes.
But they live in europe (Baryonyx) and south america (Irritator) too.
Cephlaken's avatar
Ah, I see.

I've always though Irritator was a funny name for a dinosaur

Indeed.
Have you read the history of his name?
Cephlaken's avatar
No, actually :)

Aren't spinosaurids from Africa?
Teratophoneus's avatar
not all of them. Just look at Baryonyx who comes from europe or Siamosaurus from Asia.

Cool!!

What do you think. The big thing in the back is a hump or a sail? ;P

I think a sail.
I hump make no sense for my. It make him slower

It would, indeed. But that wouldnt make much of a difference if he was a fish-eater :/

But if it was a fish eater and lived near water all the time, why would it need a hump?
