The most members of it's family are hunting in the deep, but Navivenator (ship-hunter) comes often to the surface... and encounters with humans are unavoidable...

I know this is a bit outdated, but is the red "mane" a nod to the Apotamkin of Native American legend?

It is a reference to the description of the Greek sea serpent.

Really nice dragon. You really have opened up my eyes to dragons but I only like yours most are too... classical. Yours are new, modern and cool.

If they go after humans, why wouldnt they go after seals, or dolphins?

Because seals are live at the coasts and dolphins are often to fast
