From Hero to Hypnotized: Chapter One
The thieves slid silently into Hessia’s spell shop. Two elves and a faun gathered behind one of the shelves whispering to each other. Every few moments, one of them peered over to see if the sorceress was watching them. Hessia narrowed her gaze at the elf and slowed her breathing. Power surged in the sorceress’ nerves. Violet magic pulsing through her veins and filling her eyes with a shimmering hue.
She hasn’t seen us yet…Just a few more bottles before she catches on! She heard the thoughts of one of the thieves. Telepathy was a useful trick for Hessia, but it was not commonly practiced by mages in Arclast.
“Alright you,” Hessia called. “I wasn’t born yesterday, and I know shoplifters when I see em. Come on out.”
She could sense the panic in all three of their minds as they paused. The faun was the first one to approach.
“Look,” he said. “I’m just trying to help my friends, and we have no money!”
“Don’t care. Shouldn’t have stole
