Charcoal Grey
An object transformed. What was once a living thing, made into building material, integrated into a structure, torn apart from that structure, then baptized in fire. Such is the life of charred wood. A more philosophical person might give you a metaphor for life from that example but me, I am coming up short.

I was attracted by the contrasting shine and blackness of the material. I figured getting in close would further transform the perception of the object. The visual texture was also appealing to me.
