Mistakes by Hyper DashFiM is over. What does that mean for me?
In the past few months, I asked a lot of people what they planned on doing once the show ended. I never answered the question myself, though, and now that it's officially over, I want to do that. Maybe it's because I was searching for an explanation myself, or maybe it's because I want people to know how I feel.
My connection with the pony community isn't something that's intrinsically valuable. In many ways, it's the same as any of my other hobbies and interests; talking to people about what I enjoy, consuming media, learning, and creating. But really, what makes it special is that nothing else has brought the relationships and personal growth that pony has.
I guess what I'm saying is that if the pony community was, as the show, gone tomorrow, I would be okay. As long as I kept the friendships, the memories, and the me that it helped build, I would be okay.
But, because I believe this community has made such a positive impact for so many, I don't think it's time for it to go. For as long as I am able to learn, grow, build relationships, and help others do the same in this community, I always will.
The book has closed on the show, but for us, there's room for a new chapter.

I've moved a lot of my activity over to Twitter for the sake of convenience. If you really want to keep up with all of my projects as closely as you can, definitely follow me other there!
I post a lot more sketches to twitter than I do to DeviantArt, so if you want to see more art it's pretty much the best place to follow me.
I also post simplehorsecomic on a daily basis on Twitter, and there's definitely some stuff over there that never makes it to DeviantArt, when I'm simply too busy to put the weekly compilations up here.

Idk if anyone even reads journals on DA, but here we are.
This is a little update journal for everyone who follows me here, about a few things.
First, I'm working on a HUGE multiple animator project with PrinceWhateverer to his song Solidarity, which is taking a lot of my pony time. I posted a deviation which links to the announcement video if you're interested. But basically, I'm the project manager, which means I'm dealing with all of the spreadsheets, files, communication, server moderation, etc.. It's turning out to be quite big, with names like Minty Root and Alumx joining up, which makes it all the more important that I keep it together and see it through. We all know what happens to fan projects without proper management.
Second, I am making some changes to my OTP month challenge. It's now going to be 28 soarilane sketches or drawings, but not necessarily during the month of February. I'll stretch it out a bit to accommodate my schedule better.
Next, I've returned to making daily comics over at simplehorsecomic! I started a twitter as well, for those that don't like tumblr. You can follow it it here: twitter.com/thesimplehorses or at tumblr: simplehorsecomic.tumblr.com
I plan on uploading a weekly compilation of these daily comics to DeviantArt, we'll see how that works out.
And other projects that I'm working on include illustrating a children's book! Yes! I'm actually a professional illustrator now, and I wouldn't be here if it weren't for ponies. Unfortunately, I won't be able to post anything about it here for a few reasons, but all the same, it's something art related and I thought I'd mention it.
I'm also working on returning to Remorse of the Sisters, a fan animation by Lunar Studios, which was the first animation I ever started working on, and it needs finishing.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm is there anything else?
Oh right, I plan on doing an episode recap series with simplehorsecomic that will be animated. More along the lines of the Mentally Advanced Series rather than something like Round Trip's "In a Nutshell series."
Aaand more real-life stuff: I'm finishing up my Associate's in Computer Science this year, and will be moving on to work towards a 4 year degree at another school. It's an expensive school, and I'll have to work in order to keep from getting in exorbitant debt. I'm going to try and push for my part-time career as a freelance artist to cover this, but we'll see. I may have to cut a lot of my fandom stuff.
And on the note of Season 9 being the last season, I will not be leaving the fandom. The fandom has taught me so much, brought me so much joy, and so many friends. Ponies are just too amazing. I will continue making fanart for MLP for as long as I can, and as I mentioned above, it might become an important part of my income if I can get enough commissions.
