Nerf Nitron Cyberpunk quick paintjob

The commissioner wanted Steampunk, and I just wasn't feelin it. He's a friend of mine and I know he's already stupid excited about this paintjob. Hopefully it'll still work with Steampunk costumes.

Did this over a couple of days. Put on a base coat of Rustoeum Metallic Charcoal instead of black, ran out of paint 90% of the way through, and had a lot of spots where orange and green showed through. Had to touch up a lot of spots, but it's good enough for Anime Central TOMORROW!

fairplay mate this must have been painsteaking lol , i've always had an eye for the nurf guns but you've made'em look 3000 times better :D

Thanks! I think the hardest part is deciding on what sections to coordinate colors on. The whole gun is green when you get it, so you have to decide what parts you want to accentuate as being "gun body", which parts are "major attachments", which parts are "minor accent details", etc. I wanted to tie all the parts together with the blue being the main body base, the charcoal grey being the metal gun parts, and the rest of the details being parts that had been added to it. You could easily do a different paintjob and come up with a totally different looking gun with this particular Nerf gun.

Thanks! This is one I would hang on the wall....and I might just do that for myself when I have time.:D

You know how many times I've told myself that? "Sells all the guns!" lol

Thanks for modding this for me. It's amazing. Now I just have to find a good way to display it! :)

Yeah I was thinking about that too. You need a stand or gun rack...

Love. You're so lovely and neat, I just love that so much... even when something is weathered so well it's so perfect!
That blue color is beautiful... what is that? I wish I had access to have the colors you guys have in the states.

Aw thanks! It's automotive paint in a rattle can. Dupli-Color Perfect Match Caymen Green Metallic. I was looking for more of a vintage Seafoam Green, but this was the closest I could find at the time.

I was working on mod yesterday and realized just how crappy my paint selection here is unless I pay the big bucks. Had to use a Mr Toys 50ml rattler, the cost of which is 4 times that of the crap selection of regular 250g regular cans.

Anyway this is a great looking mod and the colors are superb... #Jealous lol.

I have a VERY small collection of Testors paints that work well, and several rattle cans that I frequently use. That Dupli-Color was $10usd for an 8oz can. I'll totally use more of it though, since I just got a hold of the old Tech Target gun and I want to make more sci fi style blasters like the one I did in 2003: [link]

There is something a little Blake 7 about that. I've been thinking about trying a Nite Finder B7 style.

I've never heard of Blake7, but after looking it up, I totally want to see it. Old ass Doctor Who episodes creeped me out when I was a kid, and we didn't have a lot of BBC programs here in the 80s.

See if you can find one of the old green Tech Target guns for that B7 project. I have one here that I've been saving for the right project.

Well, they're good at certain things, but I still adore your post-apoc. paint!
