Thanks, it was a pretty crazy build. Did you watch the videos?

Yes I did and again, pretty epic! LOL

Yeah it was a frustratingly crazy build, but I got paid well and the client was very happy with it.

I'm working on another gun with electronics. Lights and sound, but no motors. Got the audio chip in the mail last week and now I have to design the rest of the circuit:

This piece is undervalued here on Deviantart. It certainly has a District 9 feel to it.

Thanks! I learned a lot of tricks with this project and the client was incredibly happy. Did you watch the video? It's got lights and sounds and twirly bits!

Definitely going to incorporate some of that into another Nerf project sometime.

What Kind of gun is this, if it were to be used in an animation of some sort, what would it shoot, what would the blast radius be (depending on the type of ammo), and how fast would it shoot (if used in some sort of animation)?

As far as I can tell, it was some kind of energy based weapon, crossed with a flamethrower. I never got specific details from the client, just what it had to look like, sound like, and move like. Also, some of the pieces on the concept art were labeled, but they didn't have ammo specs listed anywhere.

Well, if you had to guess, what would you say?

I wouldn't even know where to start. The rod spins, and sends an energy charge through the coils, and through a ring at the end that ignites an atomized combustible mixture. So...it shoots plasma fireballs? I don't know.

Fire balls makes a lot of sense. The canister on the front looks as though it could be poison if you look at it's image correctly, so I could go with your guess, or flaming plasma balls intoxicated with an extreme poison.

Yeah I don't know. They labeled the concept art with "fuel tank" and "pyros suspensor nozzle", so my thought was that it was some kind of atomized, flammable material, which is why I added the three "pilot light" leds to the nozzle.

Huh, makes sense.

Thanks! Now that I have a decent computer and camera, I want to shoot 1080p video of all my good projects.

That turned out pretty incredible! Awesome video of it in action as well.I wish I could see a closeup of the spinning rod in the video,I know alot of work went into that!

Thanks! The spinning rod really didn't have a lot of visual impact. When you turn it on, it' basically becomes a blur of red/black. Sure runs smooth and quiet though. Notice also that there is nothing holding it up above the rods, it's suspended all the way back into the gun! Pretty tough to pull off, but i made it work. :3
