Quick studies on my T1 steamwraith. I love this engine!
These have changed dramatically from their old incarnation (if anyone remembers those, I think I've since taken everything down since that shit was something like 5-6 years old,) but one thing I liked (and decided to keep) was the “centaurian” look - I could have just gone with the more snake-dragon approach but I feel like that’s too expected, I’ve seen it before.
So many legs! Number/layout is determined by whatever engine a steamwraith is based on. Helps the ground pressure distribution. It doesn’t show so well in these scribbles but they’re actually staggered so they overlap easier - I’ll post a direct underside shot sometime to show it.
These guys are complex so this idea will probably continue to be tweaked quite a bit, hah.
[If anyone follows my tumblr I'm doing somehwat of a quick-stuff month, it started as Inktober and then became...something else haha. But I won't be posting every little thing here just FYI.]
I can't say anything else than very frekin awsome piece of work!!!
This looks amazing!
Your reptilian-machine anatomy skills are sick!
I love it!
Also, I'm relatively new to seeing your art, have you drawn or do you plan on drawing any of your biomechs fighting? That would look awesome!
And oh boy yes I need to do that - I've sketched aerosaur dogfights and such but I don't have finished stuff of it posted. It's on the list
all those legs in a tandem would be a sight to behold^^
