T1 Steamwraith by Hydrothrax T1 Steamwraith by Hydrothrax

It’s that one T1 steamwraith thing again.

Drawn in Autodesk SketchBoook for a thing. [1/3]

I've been sitting on this one for a little while since I was gonna post it with some different stuff but at this point what the hell.
Also working in a program other than PS for a full illustration is weird. This one got painty since I couldn't get the pen to work the way I wanted it to...but it's ACTUALLY way better than Photoshop for linework! So I might actually start using it for that reason more often. (Photoshop's line smoothing is really shitty especially at higher res and it drives me up the wall.)

Najpierw -- powoli -- jak żółw -- ociężale,
Ruszyła -- maszyna -- po szynach -- ospale,
Szarpnęła wagony i ciągnie z mozołem,
I kręci się, kręci się koło za kołem,
I biegu przyspiesza, i gna coraz prędzej,
I dudni, i stuka, łomoce i pędzi,
A dokąd? A dokąd? A dokąd? Na wprost!
Po torze, po torze, po torze, przez most,
Przez góry, przez tunel, przez pola, przez las,
I spieszy się, spieszy, by zdążyć na czas,
Do taktu turkoce i puka, i stuka to:
Tak to to, tak to to , tak to to, tak to to.
Gładko tak, lekko tak toczy się w dal,
Jak gdyby to była piłeczka, nie stal,
Nie ciężka maszyna, zziajana, zdyszana,
Lecz fraszka, igraszka, zabawka blaszana.
A skądże to, jakże to, czemu tak gna?
A co to to, co to to, kto to tak pcha,
Że pędzi, że wali, że bucha buch, buch?
To para gorąca wprawiła to w ruch,
To para, co z kotła rurami do tłoków,
A tłoki kołami ruszają z dwóch boków
I gnają, i pchają, i pociąg się toczy,
Bo para te tłoki wciąż tłoczy i tłoczy,
I koła turkocą, i puka, i stuka to: Tak to to, tak to to, tak to to, tak to to!...

Rather astonishing.  The see-through aspect between the mechanical "bones" of the forearms is particularly unnerving... but the glossy streamlined steel styling of this beast remains quite true to its 1940s locomotive roots. =D

Locomotives are weirdly skeletal in structure, I feel like I could have played that part up even more!

BTW long time no talk, good to hear from you again!

It's in part a reference to my OLD designs from something like 5+ years ago, but it's meant to be something based more in myth. Also, there's a bit of an "iron horse" pun in there somewhere. Not all of the steamers are centaurian though, how they look depends on how the original vehicle is structured.

In a world...where creatures of the night have long shed their fleshy appearances to become images of man's machines.... (Honestly I could see this as one of many in some sort of anime where monsters and creatures now take on appearances of machines still living like their ancestors, but can be tamed and used like their non living counter parts.)
