Argus Unit by Hydrothrax Argus Unit by Hydrothrax

Decided I wanted to do a whole bunch of these after all. :D

GunWalker is a military/guard unit, but there are plenty of these guys that you’ll find for civilian enforcement too.

These units are nicknamed for their bodies being packed with sensors, good luck finding a blind spot - the optics only account for about 5-10% of what these fuckers can actually “see.”

While they’re great at chasing down targets, that’s not all they do: their Swiss-army-knife limbs might be a hint. ;)

They’re damn fast in a hover, but these guys use a lot of power (even with the ability to cling and crawl using their limbs.) There are other more efficient units that are purpose-built for running people down.

And yes, they’re biomechs - at least partially.  But the Post-Earth setting has a LOT going on that I’ll flesh out in other posts sometime, so for now, just enjoy the critters as they come!

I appreciate that you're doing a whole bunch of these. :D The thrusters strike me as a strange idea. How does it keep balanced?

The thrusters are vectored (and there are little RCS nozzles on there for more fine control if you look carefully) so combined with the quick mind of a machine for the fine flight adjustments, it can stay aloft. It's very energy-consuming though!

Pretty cool monster weapon.
Have you even thought of doing this style to vehicles from movies and video games?

Entertainment design has always been in the back of my mind - and Iv'e done a few small freelance projects in the past. I focus on industrial deign at the moment since it's a more stable industry, but movie/game design IS something I might get more serious about in the future as my skills improve.

I'd LOVE to play that game, it's like a new Zoids, but I don't own a PS4 and I'm not going to shell out for one for just ONE game. So for now I'll just enjoy the art and screenshots ;D

I'm playing it now actually, its pretty long but fun.  Fighting those things, especially the bigger ones is quite a challenge.
Luckily you override them and upgrade that feature.

I've heard you can make them follow you around :D If they ever make another, they gotta make it PC-playable!
