Here's a retro Christmas card I recently drew and designed for my excellent clients at COPE-378 in BC. The inside had the gag: "We desire for others the same things we wish for our (s)elves.”, paraphrasing the famous J.S. Woodsworth lines. Yeah, I came up with that awful joke, of course! Anyhow, I want to take this opportunity to wish a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, etc., to anyone and everyone reading this. All the best in 2015! (Btw, this is traditional pencils with digital colours and typesetting, for all you graphics nerds like me!)
ha ha. The joke is cool!!
You too, man! Happy Holidays. Nice work on the card. Power to the elf people!
You sure deserve a Merry Christmas after this brilliant piece !
This is magical!!!
Thanks, Mike. I really appreciate it. I know it's probably not going to exactly be a Merry Christmas, given the recent events in your family, but I hope you and yours have as peaceful and joyful a holiday season as is possible under the circumstances.
Very nice! (Dig the joke).
Happy Christmas, Huw!
Happy Christmas, Huw!
Good corporate leadership within a unionized environment? Too bad it's a fairy tale, huh?
Sadly, yes, it doesn't seem to work this way in the real world - at least not often enough. Thanks for the fave!
Bah, humbug! You and your elf fetish, eh? Can't stop buggering the little people, eh? Let them ride the candy cane, eh? Melt it into sugary goo to make their sticky buns, eh? You and your festivities make me sick!
It was more disturbing in the first sketch because Santa looked like Charles Manson and the elf on the right was a perfect likeness of Martin Short. The "Martin Short Elf" was easy to fix but I was having trouble making Santa NOT look like Manson until I realized it was probably the swastika on his forehead doing it. Once I erased that, everything sort of fell into place. Thanks for the fave!
You should've just drawn yourself with a wincing midget on your lap. Just use one of the many that you keep locked up in that kinky dungeon you call your basement. You probably have them trained to stay calm and attentive by feeding them a dog biscuit. I feel sorry for them when Captain Pissbeard makes them walk off his flesh plank into his golden sea.
...and Merry Christmas to you as well!
It's too early to be wishing a merry Christmas. It's kind of tacky of you to do so. Try to show a little more reserve.
Too early?! It seems like some of these businesses start pushing it in September! It's backfired with me though since I ain't buying anything this year. It's just too obviously a blatant cash grab. Humbug!
Nice art and design! Merry Holidays.
Very good work! Happy holidays, wish you the best
Awesome card! Happy holidays, Huw!
