The Darkest of Our Days

In the Ashen ranks the most feared by civilians are given the name Obliterators, the once holiest of Templars who’ve been corrupted by the rage of fire. Their holy fervor and light magic turned into boundless hate, they’ve become but blind, mindless blazing husks. Their inability to work in unison even with each other have turned them into lone-standing weapons of fear, who're armed up and warped inside the mountain ranges of Lux Aeterna by the Ashen to wreak havoc onto civilian population.

However, their very notable affinity towards places of holy presence causes them to eventually wander off and settle into old temples, shrines and cathedrals, from whence they still continue to terrorize the locals with their echoing metallic howls.

Their continuous and high threat warranted Templar Order to establish a rank of rigorously trained Inquisitors specialized in dealing with stray Obliterators, as well as to provide comfort for the population. They are easily identifiable by their crimson red demon-blood cloaks, which are tailored to conceal the stench of their light affinity, thus weakening the senses of a demon. The standard first response unit consists of just three Inquisitors, a swordsman to divert attention and outmaneuver the beast, a ranger causing sustained damage from afar with imbued arrows and a cleric to support the two and provide aid to the victims.

This one has been lying around for a looong while, and has had a whole lot of story going behind and alongside it. A flagship piece for my personal 'Tales of Aeternia'  fantasy world project.
