To be blunt and honest, I've had a big dissatisfaction for my "Tirek, My bro blabla" painting of Scorpan. It had the potential but I took it far into the wrong way, it was sooo baaaad. I instantly started to think about another Scorpan picture, not counting the Good, Bad and Ugly crossover. It was still a perfect "trial and error" piece so I know what to avoid.
In a way, doing another Scorpan picture was an idea even during that piece in order to expand on him and start to develop this "What if" story of Scorpan coming around as a recurring character.
One of the first ideas I had was "Of course Flutter would befriend Scorpan, just like Discord. What would happen between a gargoyle and a draconequus?" and it'd be just hilarious if the two beasts would be very rivalry or just don't like eachother in general. I'd imagine that way because Tirek still knew Discord from his evil times, so Scorpan must know him too. There's some connection I'd really love to hear about in S5.
Interesting idea and approach feel like scorpion could have been probably should have been featured more in the actual Cannon show there is too much unresolved history and issue with both scorpion and his brother not to mention the history between both brothers and the pillars of Equestria who scorpion befriended or more specifically Star Swirl the bearded and essentially betrayed and turned his back on his brother before leaving never to be seen again in the show, especially if we consider that Star Swirl the beardeds point of view and approach at the time was likely the same as it was when dealing with the pony of shadow who had once been one of them and whom they had wrongly assumed had betrayed them leading to their vanquish or lock away the problem approach and approach that both princesses Luna & Celestia still seem to be operating under by the end of the show seemingly not fully having learned the same lesson that starts while eventually had to with stygian in their approach that being the vanquish or lock away the problem and forget about it approach usually doesn't end well in the end but more often than not only causes the issue and the bitterness involved to Fester and get worse over time with them eventually having to deal with it again as was the case with discord until they actually tried a different approach and as was the case with stidian until they again try to different approach though they didn't seem to learn this lesson when dealing with scorpions brother or his two companions.
But I got massively off track there this is really cool art and it Spurs a whole lot of really neat and interesting ideas for both storytelling and further art hope you continue with more great works like this!
Though it's entirely up to you maybe even just as a open thought something similar like this with a released Cozy Tirek & Chrysalis who will quote unquote being have would likely be visibly not too happy or thrilled to be partaking in such a gathering or activity. Just a friendly thought, again love your scorpan it's nice to see him get some love and some art!
