Never done the Inktober thing. Thought it would be a good excuse to draw 31 of my 48 religiously professed characters. I'm a bit behind, but still plan on doing all 31 sketches. Need to design some of these guys anyways, as not all of them have actually ever been drawn.. >.>
Recently had access to a scanner, so will post all of the ones I've done so far, and then who knows when I'll scan in the rest that come after this.

Inktober Sketch #5

Fr. Athel O'Hannigan

Fr. O'Hannigan just recently got his "promotion" this week. I created him as my only Deacon character, but I began working on his story line a bit more, and realized he needs to be a priest. So he done just got ordained. Congratz O'Hannigan.
Fr. O'Hannigan was originally created and dubbed "Deacon Athel" for an AU of my story White Roses where all the characters were instead living in the 30s in the midst of a Irish vs Italian bootlegging war. I trashed that but didn't want to leave Athel in the dust, so I kept him around in case I got any ideas. Which, I did when I went to Ireland.
Fr. O'Hannigan is my youngest priest, newly ordained to the cloth and sent to a struggling church in a sort of St. Jean-Vianney type story set up. I'm still fleshing things out, but the story will be set somewhere between 1910 and the establishment of the Irish state. So the whole British repression vs Irish culture and Anglicanism vs Catholicism will be big elements, which means more research for moi.
Don't have a name for it yet, but the temporary one is "Damn Anglicans" until I can think of something more serious... >.>
No offense meant to any Anglicans >.>
Anywho, more on him later. His hair is a blast to draw. And I know I'm not doing Irish right as my two main Irish men are blonde and red head, but I DO have a properly dark-haired Irish guy. His name is Sean. He's in my story line Politically Incorrect and he's a driving instructor. And I guess he doesn't really count among my Irish kids because he's several generations removed but whatever.

And yes, he fiddles. Because I can't and I wish I could.
