Hatikvah by HugaDuck Hatikvah by HugaDuck
Kol'od belevav penimah               As long as in the heart, within
Nefesh Yehudi homiyah,               A Jewish soul still yearns,
Ulefa'atei mizrach kadimah,           And Onward, towards the ends of the east
'Ayin let'Ziyon tzofiyah;               An eye still gazes towards Zion;

'Od lo avdah tikvateinu,               Our hope is not yet lost,
Hatikvah bat shenot 'alpayim,       The hope, two thousand years old
Lihot am chofshi be'artzeinu,        To be a free nation in our land,
'Eretz Tziyon v'Yerushalayim.        The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

I apologize in advance if I messed something up in my handwriting. Been a year since I wrote anything in Hebrew, and the small bit of work that I did do with it was just with an after-school club.
I tried.
No vowels.
My writing without them is bad enough......

For those who are lost, Hatikvah, ( הַתִּקְוָה ), is the national anthem of Israel, adapted from a poem by Naftali Hertz Imber.

Aaaaaand, I killed my wrist shading this....
I originally just had a sketch of Zeb there, then some Hebrew showed up, and then after two evenings of mindless doodling, a bunch of frangipanis and some Anemone coronaria or "Kalanit" as it's called in Hebrew which is less of a mouthful, just kinda popped up in abundance.

So there, I drew something.
Now I'll just creep back into hiding.

I'm both pleased with them, and regret them, as the day after I finished this, I had to take a 3 hour College English and Literature exam, on which there were over 80 questions and 3 essay prompts.

I was surprised my wrist didn't turn black and fall off or something ridiculous like that. :I
