Br. Ignatius Roth by HugaDuck Br. Ignatius Roth by HugaDuck
I gave up on Inktober on the 20th drawing..... but I still want to finish this someday with all my priests/brothers/nuns ect.
These are the last ones I got done way back in October before I gave up XD

Br. Ignatius Roth OSB AKA "Iggy/Iggs"

You can tell I'm a little confused with this guy. Called him a Brother. Drew him as a postulant. He's actually a novice through the majority of the story line... But Iggs is a mess anyways soooo.
I also forgot to draw his freckles. He has a crap ton of freckles. (Yes, this is the red-head brother I mentioned on Fr. O'Hannigan's.)
Throughout the course of the story line, Iggs is trying to figure out whether he really is called to monastic life. He has.... ZERO self confidence and a hard time finding his sense of direction... spiritually AND physically. Poor kid wouldn't know east from west if you put him in front of a setting sun.
That being said, he's...... really really smart. If not a bumbling, clueless dork. He graduated high school two years younger than his classmates, and was hoping to go to college for a degree in a field of chemistry. He was going to be the first in his family to attend a university too, so his parents were very... very dismayed.. when he had a last second change of heart and ran off to a monastery.
He has a really tough time as a postulant and as a novice. He's dealing with his own split heart on college vs the religious life AND pressure from his parents constantly mailing him letters and recruiting friends to show up at the monastery's front doors and beg Br. Joe to let them in to talk some sense into Iggs. Along with that, a lot of the other monks aren't so sure he's suited for monastic life. There's a concern he's just a nerdy anti-social kid running from the pressures and expectations his family is putting on him.
If there's one person who believe in him full-heartedly, it's Fr. Asher Leon, who I'll introduce here soon.
He DOES end up fully joining the community, hence the "Br." in his title.
