Ptolemy studied at Bradford in the 80's, travelled extensively and settled in Brighton, UK. He specialises in animals, insects and marine life sculptures made from recycled materials including car wheel trims, shopping trolleys, car parts and found objects.

I've been working professionally as a sculptor since 2001, but pretty much all my adult life in one way or another I have been making stuff. I started with the hubcaps around 1997 but have embraced other plastics and scrap metal along the way. I'm self taught with the mig welder when it comes to the scrap metal sculptures so the work is not as tidy as it could be but I'm learning all the time... My inspiration comes from the natural world where I find such a staggering quantity and wealth of exciting ideas that I am already regretting the relatively little amount of time I have left to create.
