Glassic Dock by htmlcheeta Glassic Dock by htmlcheeta
This was made based on the dock used for example in Anuranjan Bhatia's icons. I adapted it, redrew a fair amount of stuff and packaged it into an iContainer and here we are.

Visit his dA Page: anuranjanbhatia.deviantart.com…
His gallery contains all of the released Glassic icons, too: anuranjanbhatia.deviantart.com…

Please leave a comment saying what you like/hate about it, and what I should do next. I do icons, docks and wallpapers sometimes... if you're wandering :P

I love donations (who doesn't?), so please feel free to drop me some points :D

*NEW!* Windows version. Well, sort of. It's a ZIP with useful files; www.mediafire.com/?jp1rg5y47u4…

Included files are the top-down dock (it looks like a rectangle from a bird's eye view), the front edge, blank separator and indicator. In case you use a pre-skewed PNG, I've packed that too (already has the front edge on it). Enjoy!

Glassic Dock by ~htmlcheeta - the suggester said: "so eye catching and sleek." ..and i say: you can't argue with that.

Yeah - that's the basic download on the right. You're looking at the iContainer file for use with the application "Candybar".

Man, I think you should do all of the Glass Icons, like safari, iTunes, iPhoto, ical, lauchpad.. because without them, downloading this isn't a big conquer =\

thank you.. I'm REEEALLY sad he's not releasing the icons..

You know, in a way I'd love to... but it'd be a direct copy of him. Plus I lack time lately - if you take a look at my Scribble set, that's been a WIP for several months. And I haven't achieved a whole lot!

I wish he would release them. I'm doubtful if he's gotten any actual sales for the non-free ones :/

yeah I thought it would be a mistake cause of the copyrights.. eheh

and yeah, I'm doubtful about that too.

The PNG's shouldn't be formatted for use only with Macintosh - I'm able to load them on my W7 partition. In any case, I've uploaded a set of PNG's here:
[link]

Note that I've included the pre-skewed version and the unskewed version of the docks. The pre-skewed one doesn't require the addition of the front edge.

Edit: the png files needed for PC are-
Blank Separator.png
GlassicDockEdge.png
Indicator (Large).png
GlassicDock.png

If you can do this, Thank you! And if you can't, it's beautiful work any way!

I really love this dock but I use a PC. Is there any way you'd be willing to create & allow dl of the dock as .png? The pngs included in your zip file are for MAC & can't be read by WSeven OS.

I want this awesome dock but now I've come across this one problem. I got the dock installed... in my other account, not the admin. The dock on the admin does not change even though I used CandyBar in the admin. Hope you can help, please and thank you.

When you say admin, do you mean root user? Not sure if you can change the dock in there. Otherwise it should work fine - I advise re-downloading and trying again.

When I mean admin I thought I already controlled everything. The other account is just a standard account. I didn't hear about a root user and I don't really know how to turn my account into one. I even changed the accounts roles but I still couldn't change my dock even when I deleted and re-downloaded everything

OH wow! I love this! I'd totally have this on mine if I could. But what would really cool is if you could see the blue light being reflected in the glass :]
Great work!

I'm not sure how W7 docks work. Is there a format it needs to be packed in or do you just need specific PNG files? If it's the latter I can do it for you, just explain what images you need.

The images for the icons need to be in the standard windows icon format as for the programing i'm not sure

Haha no problem. In order to use this dock, I suggest/highly recommend you get a program called CandyBar, though there are others that do something similar and are officially free. I believe you can get CandyBar free from some sources, but that's probably illegal :s Once you get this program it's fairly straightforward, you download the ZIP, unzip it, and drag the iContainer into CandyBar as I showed here: [link]

Hope that helps!

PS: This is free and might work: [link]

Go to CandyBar > Applications (There are 4 icons in the top right of the CandyBar window, one of them is for Applications).

Find Skype in the main list of Applications, and just drag the icon off of it. The default should return after you log out and back in (after confirming relaunch dock etc).

Hope that helps :)

to late, just uninstalled and redownloaded (which also works)

Thank you for your help but I think this is the end of my customizing adventure. If candybar is the best there is to offer and it's utterly useless and doesn't come with any instructions then I'm out.

Otherwise you've been completely delightful and I hope your products/productions continue to work for people who actually know what they're doing
