Hey everyone! I want to address something that's been coming up a lot lately, because it's reached a point where I feel I need to set a clear, public boundary.
I've been receiving a significant and growing number of messages from artists asking me to commission them — typically offering to adapt my stuff into comics, cover pages, or other formats.
I want to be upfront and transparent about this: I do not commission artists who approach me unsolicited asking for work. This is a firm boundary, and it won't change regardless of follow-ups.
Here's why:
- It's not how I choose to find artists to work with. When and if I decide to commission someone, I seek them out myself based on their portfolio, style, and whether they're a good fit for my vision. That's a personal, deliberate process — not one that happens because someone slid into my comments or DMs.
- Unsolicited pitches are a red flag for me, not a selling point. Legitimate professional artists typically build their client base
