It's kinda weird seeing something other than SP (my nickname) as a username after 12 or so years... But I want to keep as consistent as possible across all the platforms I've been using. And seeing as I've been trying to get my name out there as much as possible, why not use my actual name? :) So, as of now, the links to my work as such:

Hi everyone! It's been a few thousand years since my last update, so I thought I'd throw one up.

Firstly, this coming up Sunday, April 17 is our first convention of the season! It is Half Way to Granitecon Comic Book Show and it will be in Concord, New Hampshire from 10am to 3pm! It's only five bucks to get in, and kids under twelve are free! It's our first convention out of state, and I'm really excited about it! Not sure where our table will be, but I think it's pretty small, so it shouldn't be too difficult finding us.

We've also got another convention coming up in June, and another in August, and with more planned in the future!

Also, I've recently created an art-only page for myself on Facebook, and it would be super helpful if you gave me a like, and shared it with people you know! So far, I've updated it daily, and I hope to continue to do so for a while. Go check it out!

So far 2016 has been pretty amazing, aside from all the depressing musician deaths :(. But art-wise, I've been feeling pretty positive, and I feel like I'm moving forward at a pretty good speed now! I'm even writing off art supplies and things on my taxes now! I feel like a real artist ^_^ Hopefully it means I'm getting closer to quitting my day job so I can do art all the time. That's the goal!

Hope everyone else is having a stupendous year as well~! :w00t:

Hi peeps!

So my very first table at a convention was (to me) a great success, and I met lots of awesome people, artists and art fans alike. I got to meet the amazing Brian O'Halloran (Dante from Clerks), Dan Parent (artist and writer of Archie), and Bob Camp (co-creator of Ren & Stimpy). ALL of these guys had some influence on my art and story-telling style, so it's amazing that they were all there, and that I had the privilege of meeting them.

Thanks to all the people who came by our table to see my art, and it even looks like there a few new followers on here and a couple other places! So glad to see that. ^_^ And it was so awesome hearing that people like my art style! It's so nice to have some confirmation that doing what I love is working out for me ^^

And it was awesome meeting the guys in my FB Vermont Comic Creators group! They are all really cool, and I look forward to being at conventions with them in the future!

Overall, everything was just really great. Talking to con-goers, cosplayers, everyone really was so fulfilling, and I feel like I'm part of a new family now. It's definitely given me acknowledgement that this is what I should be doing, and doing conventions is definitely something I look forward to hopefully doing a lot more often. I've learned a lot from my table neighbors, and hopefully next con will be even better!

And if you didn't get a chance to go to this year's VT Comic Con, definitely make sure you try and make it next year! It will be at the same place, but the date will be October 29-30. Right before Halloween! *-* I'm definitely going to be signing up for it... can't wait! :D

Because it's been so long since I posted a journal (or anything ><), so why not, yeah?

  • How long have you been on DeviantArt?
It will be 11 years next month.

  • What does your username mean?
It's just my nickname and year I was born. I was nicknamed SP in high school for being such an avid South Park watcher, for those who didn't know.

  • Describe yourself in three words.
    Intelligent, Open-minded, and sensitive.

  • Are you left or right handed?
    Right.

  • What was your first deviation?
It's hanging in my living room!
    Alicia's Final Moment by hrfarrington

  • What is your favourite type of art to create?
I wanted to say comics, but I think it's probably fan art.

  • If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I think it would be pixel art.

  • What was your first favourite?
    SailorMoon by Teruchan

  • What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Comics, pixel art, cute things, fantasy art.

  • Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
Oh jeez... I don't know if I can pick one...
:iconsakimichan: :iconskirtzzz: :iconmooncalfe: :iconzambicandy: :iconzoestanleyarts: :icontamyra: :iconclover-teapot: :iconjubilations: I mean, I could go on forever...

  • If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
Any of those people above, really! :iconzoestanleyarts:, :iconskirtzzz:, and :icontamyra: have all done art for me, and they're all super nice!

  • How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
:iconthe-psychid: and I have had some really interesting conversations, and I always like hearing from him!

  • What are your preferred tools to create art?
I use Manga Studio EX 4.0 (haven't quite moved onto 5 yet) to layout, sketch and ink comics. Then I import comics and art into PhotoShop CS4 to do coloring. I also use a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet.

  • What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
I haven't been in quite a while, but I love being on Cape Cod, and drawing on the beach is always very relaxing.

  • What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
It was really cool meeting some of the staff when I went to San Diego Comic Con 2009, and I got some free stickers!
