Sleeping Black Metallic Aurora Dragon

Another scaled dragon, but this is a sleepy one. I made him as a direct response to the Black Glitter Aurora Dragon I submitted the other day. The rainbow colors on the scales are the same between the two dragons, but check out the difference between the look of the chameleon powders on translucent and black clay. On translucent, they are soft and ethereal and on black, they are strong and metallic. I love them both.

I also snuck in some green-blue chameleon flakes because it's been a while and I love the stuff. I am really liking the shape of the curled ram horns as well.

Crafted from polymer clay, SolarColorDust chameleon powders and chameleon flakes. About 3 inches long.

This dragon has found a home, but you can still visit his Etsy listing to view additional photos.

Have you thought of making Spyro? I'm new here, so if you already have I wouldn't know.

Ooh, the metallic sheen of the scales is gorgeous. Especially with the mica powder on the black. I also really like the horns (they remind me of a ram :D).

The scales remind me of that one guy who makes amazing things with bismuth. I think you might be interested in that. His name is the bismuthsmith I think

WAIT A MINUTE.
I've actually bought bismuth crystals from him before. xD
It's good quality stuff!

I didn't know he did all these figurines in addition.

I'm gonna do it today!!!

Nice, have fun with it!

I use Premo polymer clay, and I glaze with Varathane water-based gloss polyurethane. I wrote an article about my quest for the perfect clay glaze a while back: Glazing Polymer Clay: Resource and Recommendation

cool!
I forgot which clay the teacher here uses but the glaze is water soluble before being fired in the kiln
