Hey all, I'm back from Japan! It was a good trip, but now it's time to catch up on all the things. The holidays approach... e_e
Anyway, here's something different! I've been really in love with alcohol ink painting lately. I've been using the technique for some other projects (that you'd know about if you watched my stream ^_~), but I thought it would only be fair to try painting up a few dragons in this style. I've been having a lot of fun with small, multicolored spots and blending different colors together, so that's what I did here. I started by making a dragon out of white clay, then painted it after it had baked. The result is gorgeous, with bright, super-saturated colors overlapping each other. Exactly the sort of thing that makes me happy.
That being said, coloring this dragon was incredibly time consuming. It was a fun exercise and I love the result, but since it takes so long to do, it's probably not a technique that I'll be using very much in the future.
Crafted from polymer clay, glass bugle beads, and alcohol ink.
This dragon has already found a home, but you can still visit her Etsy listing to see additional photos.
I'm getting back into streaming after being away for so long. I'll be sculpting live from 7-10pm Pacific. As always, you are invited to stop by and say hi over on Twitch.
Fun with alcohol inks
an absolutly masterpiece of artwork! Mindblowing.
It's been 4-5 years since i crafted the last dragon... it's so inspiring to see your work and technique ♥.. I'm lost for words.
Keep it up with your wonderful artwork. I hope you make so much money with this stuff.
Beste wishes to you.
Time to buy myselfe new polymer clay.
Can i maybe try your ink techique just for fun?
If you want to try some alcohol ink painting, please be my guest. I hardly came up with the technique myself, but I am probably the first person to have applied it to a clay dragon. xD
