Birthstone Collection: November
Published:3.6K Views
Description
This dragon represents November in my birthstone collection. November's birthstone is either topaz or citrine, so this dragon holds a light orange heart-shaped crystal. His body is a bright, translucent orange, and he sports an orange-to-white gradient on his paws and tail, reminiscent of the color transition found in citrine. His accents are a darker orange with some slight translucency - this dragon looks amazing when held up to the light! He also bears a citrine yellow gem on his forehead for added sparkle. This dragon figurine would be a great gift for someone born in November, or for someone who loves orange... or creamsicles! This guy looks good enough to eat.
This dragon conveniently does double-duty for both citrine and topaz color-wise, but I intentionally styled him after citrine's white-to-yellow color gradients. And if you're thinking that he looks awfully similar to February's amethyst dragon, you'd be right! Did you know that both citrine and amethyst are quartz variants? Hence the similar look.
I couldn't find any round rhinestones in an appropriate color, but I found some heart pendants in the right shade of orange. The only thing is that they're transparent and not quite as reflective as the round rhinestones. What do you think? Is it an acceptable substitute?
This dragon is a repeatable design available for purchase on Etsy. You can find additional photos and sales information at his listing.
