Birthstone Collection: May

Description

This dragon represents May in my birthstone collection. May's birthstone is emerald, so this dragon carefully guards a deep green glass rhinestone gem held in his tail. In keeping with the theme, this dragon is a bright, glittery green with translucent green accents. A small, emerald colored rhinestone decorates his forehead for a touch of extra sparkle.

I love this green clay! It's Premo's discontinued green pearl which, along with blue pearl, are some of my all-time favorite clay colors. It's one of those colors that looks pretty good when it comes out of the oven, but becomes absolutely gorgeous after it's been glazed. It's hard for me to pick a favorite out of the birthstone dragons, but I think this one might be it. I really like the color progression on his horns, and I adore the pose.

This dragon is a repeatable design available for purchase on Etsy. You can find additional photos and sales information at his listing.

Yeah, I like that pose...

Hi Lindy!  I just wanted to let you know that I've featured your work yet again, this time in a post called May Birthstone Dragons - Emerald - by Various Artists on my dragon artwork blog (with proper attribution and links back, of course).  I love this piece, and I still love my awesome May/October pair my hubby ordered for us a few years ago!  You can find me at Writing Dragons, and this feature here.  Keep up the amazing work!
