Birthstone Collection: March

Description

This dragon represents March in my birthstone collection. March's birthstone is aquamarine, so this dragon holds a light blue rhinestone gem. The color is also mirrored in the matching gems on his wings. His body is a fresh, bright blue and he also sports translucent accents in various watery shades of blue and green. His wings are droplet shaped to emphasize the connection between aquamarine and water. The dragon is reclining on his back - he's a bit of a lazy fellow, content to watch the clouds drift by while guarding his gem.

I don't know why I have this mental connection between water dragons and laziness. I think just about every water-related dragon I've ever made has been lying about or resting in some fashion. :giggle: I am considering making future versions of this dragon with blue-to-white horns instead of the mix of greens that this one has. I think it would be more cohesive, but what do you think? Would it be too blah?

This dragon is a repeatable design available for purchase on Etsy. You can find additional photos and sales information at his listing.
