This is Golden Moon's cousin, Aurora Moon. She was inspired by the Northern Lights, so her black body is covered with splashes of metallic green, blue and gold. An iridescent moon adorns her brow, centered between her multi-colored horns. She's lying down, but rearing up slightly - keeping watchful and alert.
I have a particular shade of green that comes to mind when I imagine the aurora borealis, but it's not, unfortunately, in my set of mica pigments. I actually have a shade that looks right, but when you brush it on black, it just looks gold and isn't green at all. So that was a bit disappointing! I had to go with a darker, more metallic green, which I do love, but it's not quite what I had in mind for this dragon. I still like how she turned out though, especially with the placement of the moon. I like her pose too, it's a bit different from the ones that I usually use.
Aurora Moon has found a home, but you can still visit her listing if you'd like to see additional photos.
