An Understated Peacock Dragon

After making that galaxy dragon a little while back, I started thinking about other mica powder color combinations that would look awesome on black. Being a fan of cool colors, this was the next logical step - a peacock colored dragon! Next time, maybe I'll actually make a peacock dragon instead of just one that's inspired by the colors.... Also, he's standing up because it's been a long time since I last made a standing dragon and I wanted to see if I remembered how to make one. I really like the options for posing the tail in standing poses. :3

This dragon has been sold, but you can still see additional photos at his Etsy listing.

I have no idea, sorry. :(
But it's this stuff, if that helps. That's not the set that I have - there are smaller sets out there if you want to start small.

I have a couple questions. Where do you get the mica powder and what do you use to get translucent colors? Thanks!

I bought my mica powder set from Michaels - it was in the rubber stamp section, near the embossing powders and ink. They're kind of pricey, but if you wait to get a good coupon, you can get them for a reasonable price!

I use Premo's white translucent clay, and I tint it with little bits of colored clay to get translucent colors.

This is really beautiful.  I recently bought some mica powders and I can't wait to try them out on a sculpture!  I tested a tiny amount with some glaze onto a piece of baked clay and WOW does a little ever go a long way.  Great stuff.

Ooh, I've always put the powders directly on raw clay - I've never tried mixing it into the glaze. A little bit definitely goes a long way, that's for sure!

I use colored mica powders - it's kind of like the stuff that goes into eyeshadow.
