Don't know if this group is active or not, but if you don't mind answering my questions It would be much appreciated:

So I recently found and bought this book: Vampire: The Masquerade

But I have yet to fully understand what it is. So I know that its a game, but I don't quite understand what type of game. Is it a PC game? Board game? Our is it just roleplaying? Also what are the books for? The only thing I could think of after reading a little bit of it and looking around it, it seems like a very big guide book to a game. I also ran into a second addition character guide but couldn't buy, it was is that for? Is their some order that the books go in?

Again I would appreciate if anyone would answer my questions.

Vampire: the Masquerade is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game played with your imagination and 10-sided dice.  You need several people to play, one being the storyteller.  A common term is "GM" or "Game Master."

There are a couple renditions of the rulebook now.  Do you know which version you have?  The rulebook is used to create your character (you need a character sheet, there is a copy in the back of the book or you can download PDF versions online), and the basic rules and mechanics of the game.  Initially, it may come across a little complex, but it has a real nice rhythm once you get into it.

The character guide is an add-on that brings additional rules into the game.  You get some new power options, some new merits/flaws, etc.  I would advice sticking to the main book until you are comfortable with the base rules before adding in another layer.

Hope that helps :)
