9" X 12" Graphite Pencil on Strathmore Bristol of Wanoka the Beautiful Bobcat! I have been working off and on painting in Gouache multiple portraits of this Bobcat. Their coloring and pattern is very subtle so I decided to do a graphite pencil drawing to help me see and feel the power and glory of the Bobcat!❤️
I've spent the last month matting and Framing art work, many that have been first viewed here on Deviant ART. The funny thing about getting older is that I want to clean up, finish up, and put my life and art in order. I think I've matted and framed about 50 images and now most of them are hanging on the walls. The Wizard Marion Skydancer is hanging above my computers. Watercolors I painted in 1989 are now hanging in the Guest Bathroom. Chicken portraits are now hanging in the Fireplace room, and the Amate Barkpaper Watercolor paintings of Birds and Animals are now hanging in the halls. I hung some paintings I inherited from my parents in the hall, and I'm happy to see the house getting put back together. I have more frames ordered at 50% off at Aarron Brothers, and with their good deals I will get more finishing work done in June. The mats were purchased on super sale at Jerrys Artarama, and they are a great place to buy framing and matting, and all art supplies. I will upload some photos of the now hung paintings. Life is short, and I think it's a wonderful thing to get your art work out of portfolios or drawers and finished and onto your walls. Part of life is the creation and the creative process, but another aspect of creation is completion and seeing that your work is...GOOD. Try taking some of your old work out, touching and cleaning up older work, and then framing it. Great satisfaction. I hope your day is good.
