I haven't posted a journal here in forever, but since this website chronicles my evolution as a person and all of my history over the past 3 years, it's time to post another.

My grandmother passed away because of a heart attack at about noon today.

She had cancer and was going through chemotherapy; her eventual goal was to have a gastric bypass and become a normal weight again.

My mother has always been in prison, so my grandmother always sort of took her place; I affectionately called her Grammy since I could say the word up until Sunday, the last day I saw her. I've been drifting in and out of tears since I heard the news.

Some people like Batman or Superman; my superhero was a woman named Susan Ayres.

Rebuilding my '86 Supra's engine. Myself. Car geeks read below if you want to know the details.

I'm putting in plasma-moly piston rings, high performance main and rod bearings, a high output oil pump, a new water pump, a mostly new valvetrain, all new gaskets including a HKS metal head gasket that's .2mm smaller than stock for a compression bump, a new timing chain and gears, NGK Iridium spark plugs, and I'm going to run full synthetic oil in it from day 1.

That'll be fun.

Well, this is it. 4 hours until the end of my last day of summer vacation.

I must say, this was the best one I've ever had. The trip I took at the beginning of the summer, I could still describe to you intricately, I could name almost everyone we saw, and definately the places we stayed. I can't wait to do it again someday.

As for the rest of the summer, it was mellow, but a pretty good way to enjoy my last "summer of freedom" (for all the next ones, I'll probably be working).

It's just kind of silly how fast it all went by. But I guess that's what happens when you're enjoying yourself. Even though I didn't get a girlfriend.

But there are some things to look forward to...my birthday in 18 days, and I take my road test for my driver's license on the 26th. I'm also finally going to get a job.

Well, time to put a period at the end of this chapter of my life.
