I never write anything but this one has a good story.
It's been a slow day, I'm in my warmed up car about to leave when two girls and a guy go into the shop (The owner's in there finishing a piece).
It's a piercing. I'm sure of it. But I go in anyway. It's a big piece to start at 7:30ish but I'm not opposed to working late. It's a cool piece. And I just watched Nikko Hurtado's yesterday. I want to do a color piece with a large mag.
Used a 5rs for the outline, and an 11curved mag on everything else. I was free to play with color all I wanted as long as it was an orange lilly.
Glad I worked late.

Download for a really big view. The highlights are yellow so some spots look a bit bloody. But I assure you, the saturation is there.

If you look at it a certain way, it also looks like a flexed bicep belonging to a tanned bodybuilder with inexplicably delicate wrists, juxtaposed with something else that will remain unmentioned... Not to be critical...

Looks great! Curved mags are so nice to work with!

And that outline is crisp as hell, nice work.

This looks Great man! Calalilies are harder flowers too cuz of the wide open space the opening has. It's easy to lose interrest and just start filling if that makes any sense. But this is a really well done job and looks a1

Thanks. I know what you mean. I had to build that up and fan it out. Too much fill and it would be flat.
I kept thinking of my shapes there, like I was shading an ear.
