Frank :iconhesterkin: really stole the show on this one. I love how his imagination just took off with the "pipe" feel of the pen drawing I provided. The face is beautiful!

I like this!
Part of me wants a little more chaos and a little less white space but partly I'm glad there's plenty of neutral space left behind.
Ah it's been too long.

Nice collab, Jess and Frank!
My impression is a fossil inlayed with a Neanderthal
man or womans cave painting.

Actually, your karma is able to stir up comments in my brain regarding your drawings and collabs.
Hope to work with you some day.
Tell Frank the Hester, I said "howdie"

Whenever you're ready, let me know! I can collab anytime now. I will have internet at home, as of tonight, and that will allow me to work from home more often and should free up more art time. :)

Really?
This will be a first...(moon rats)
Seriously, I am messing around with some new ideas of mine, but I don't think I have a collab sketch/drawing, ready right now.
Maybe, you could start a "psychotic" Zappa/Steadman sketch for us.
I would be so happy to finish what you start.
ANY media will do.
If you want me to start, I will stop what I am doing, and go back to it later.
I will not pass an opportunity to work with you, Jess.
Repeat, I will not pass up this chance. I've been waiting for this!!!!

Interesting piece.
Good to see a little color from you (and yours)

The color was alllllll Hester. I think I'd actually work in color
if colored pencils glided in the same way that a graphite one can.

there are some that do. you just got to look for them.
have you ever tried pastel pencils.
they're more like chalk though, or charcoal, but you can get some good effects.

I don't draw all that much myself but I've been experimenting lately with colored ball point pens. I like the linear quality and I like the general quality and tonality that pen and in provides, although the color range of pens is pretty limited, and it's hard to achieve certain colors or good blending.

I like the idea of the colored ball point pens actually. I may give them a shot!

yeah, I've had some nominally good results. I have some cheapos that I picked up at the dollar store next to my dad's place. So they're not the best.

I've always like pen and ink, color or not, and have always wanted to do more with them.

Give it a shot and have fun.

You seem to like to do fine line, detailed work, which tells me you prefer the D pencils. Some colored pencils will give you a harder "lead" and make it possible for you to do that kind. And they're not as "waxey" But they will be a bit more expensive. I prefer the B leads myself. 2-4B. That gives me smother blending and if I keep the points sharp I can still get some good fine line effects and detail work.

As I talk about this it's getting my wig twisted a little.
Maybe I'll get time to do a little drawing today.

and maybe the sky will rain silver dollars.

I love the image of silver dollars raining from the sky but I think it would cause a lot of damage while being beautiful.
I use B pencils, believe it or not. 6 - 9B to be exact. :) I will look into different colored pencils once I recover from the computer and plane ticket I just bought. Hope you had a wonderfully creative weekend!

hmmmmm. it looked like pretty fine line to be "B" work.
I'll have to take a closer look.

Hee. I only work in B pencils, ball point pen and fine sharpies. I think once or twice I've used an H to draw an outline. :) Which piece(s) are you referring to? Now I'm curious.

Thank you! I am sad to say that for the second day in a row, I've forgotten
to bring in the collab that I have for you. I placed it on "Pendoor" and it blends right in, making it very difficult for me to remember. Tomorrow I should have it for you. :)
