Alex Kidd re-mastered by Hotaru-oz Alex Kidd re-mastered by Hotaru-oz
Just been hit with a bit of nostalgia wave as of late.
My take on the old box art from Alex Kidd in Miracle World.
If you're old as I am you'll probably remember the old Master System cases looked like. They weren't particularly flash especially the early releases.
His look is more based off the sprite from the Mega Drive game than the master system sprite as it I found it looked more colourful.
With all the popularity old consoles around especially with the old Nintendo systems as of late, I feel the Master System isn't getting enough love as the others.

Heya, i like your Alex Kidd fan art and would like to share / feature it on Game-Art-HQ.com my website about video game characters in an article like this one www.game-art-hq.com/64253/akir… where i write about game characters and share official art, screenshots as well as selected fan art.

Of course with full credit and a backlink to your dA gallery or any other website you prefer.

Please reply to this comment if that is okay with you

Greets and a good start into 2014!

Thankies :-)

Btw, maybe take a look at my dA group :icongame-art-hq: i read your description and maybe the group can be interesting for you because i am organizing both art collaborations and contests there about classic games relative often, and sooner or later there will be something Sega related for sure. This year we have a big art project about the 20th aniversary of the PSX

I have many favourite games from all sorts of different consoles but the Master System and Mega Drive are particularly special to me.
I think the games I enjoyed playing the most were Alex Kidd, Sonic the Hedgehog(Sonic 3 & Knuckles especially), Wonder Boy and the Shining Force games are a few that come to mind :aww:

Yup, same here, both of your personally special systems are mines too. They are the first ones I had..everyone had nintendo and very very few had the master system. I am glad I had them and still do, it was such a great system!

Nice to hear of people liking and remembering alex kidd in miracle world.. did you like it on the genesis one "enchanted castle"? Oh, so many love the classic sonic games, they are awesome!

I actually still have a copy of "Enchanted castle" however I don't have "miracle world", that now belongs to my brother.
Actually my first console was a NES my mum bought while in Singapore so I think it's a bootleg one but she eventually got us a second hand Master system because we kept renting one from the Video store all the time lol.

The master system was more successful in Australia then in north america right? if I'm correct. Also in Brazil and UK. Still, it is your brother's, you still get the chance to play it! I wonder why it wasn't in Sonic's Genesis collection?

yeah Sega was incredibly popular in the late 80s and early 90's where I lived.
Yeah if we could find his master system we would, his room is full of crates and boxes of old consoles and games lol.
I'm not too sure but the Alex Kidd games are available on Wii's virtual console.

Mine's almost constantly hooked up to the TV or to an adapter on the end of another console's lead. I have a SNES, a MegaDrive, my treasured Master System, one of several PSXs, my N64 and my Dreamcast hooked up to my TV and I have a PS2 on the TV in one room and an original XBox in the other on the main TV. Not to mention my 3 GameBoy Advanceds and my GameBoy colour/original/advanced games. Used to have a GameBoy Colour but gave it to my brother. I also have a DS with about...one game. Also emulators but they don't count. (Why yes, I am obsessed with videogames)

All my other consoles are put away in storage until I can find enough room to hook them up.

I unfortunately had a Master System I with a racing game and a light gun game built in.
I went searching on ebay for a Master System II and came across the actual cart but it was way too expensive ><
