In September my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer, which had also spread to her brain. She is without insurance, without financial assistance, and fighting a very tough battle. My family is helping out as much as possible, but my mom shouldn’t have to worry about bills when she’s fighting for her life.

Well, just a few things.
I am now back at home with my parents which, while not terrible, is doing horrible things for my sense of independence. It's always difficult to live on your own for a significant amount of time and then return to your childhood bedroom for a while. But in the grand scheme of things, all is well.
Currently engaged in that dreaded job search which is proving quite difficult since a lot of potential employers don't really have a feel for industries in other countries. So it's sort of like starting back at square one. A challenge, but it won't be the death of me.

It's been an exhausting past few months. I am now mostly packed up and ready for my big move from London back to the States, meaning that I have shipped all the important things I've accumulated over the past three years, booked my flight home, and partied hard.
The next two weeks will be spent with my partner, with my friends, and in the company of lots of deliciously British food. I have a few set dates for social events, but mostly? The days will pass in a blur of cuddles.
But my partner and I are ready for this. Schedules will change, but we'll weather the distance.

Whew! I've officially finished my NaNoWriMo project by clocking in at 50,262 words yesterday!
I must admit, I'm very pleased with myself and very much looking forward to seriously editing my NaNo story, Earthsayers with intent to share my manuscript with close friends and beta readers over the next year.
Which leads me to my next project: new storytelling friends!
As I prepare for the move from the UK to the US it becomes more and more important to me that I find friends in my timezone who are interested in original characters, original universes, and collaborative writing. I already have three wonderful co-writers, but they're all Brit
