Feathered Dragons - Q'uq'umatz by horse14t Feathered Dragons - Q'uq'umatz by horse14t
Kind of ticked at DA right now because I tried to submit this guy earlier but when I did the description was completely gone and I couldn't get it back..... So I have to type all of it again....

Anyway I debated so much as to wither or not to give Q'uq'umatz wings or not since none of the others have wings... But since I couldn't find any references showing the body and Q'uq'umatz is the god of wind and rain and carries the sun across the sky and is associated with water, clouds, and the sky it made to much sense. That and part of his name (according to the wiki) comes from the K'iche' word q'uq, which refers to the Resplendent quetzal bird.

Bio:
Q'uq'umatz is a medium sized, long feathered dragon. It is also one of only two fathered dragons to have wings (Not including bird-like dragons). The other being Gaasyendietha.

Q'uq'umatz are covered in iridescent green/blue feathers with black wings and a red underbelly. Their horns are unique in that they branch. The lower branch curling in the shape of a U and the longer branch creates an S shape. Though older individuals may have a curvy M shape as the horns grow longer.

These dragons usually live around rivers and other water sources in forests and jungles. Residing in tree hollows and abandoned burros.
They use their wings mostly for getting from tree to tree. While in the air the dragon will flatten it's body, similar to a Flying Tree Snake and fan out it's tail feathers for extra lift. Sometimes they'll glide to get away from predators or even to catch flying prey.

When a male finds a female they'll show off their red underbelly and extend their wings to try and impress her. Courtships between Q'uq'umatz last about 3 - 7 days before the couple parts. The male does not contribute anything to raising the chicks.

Q'uq'umatz are not usually aggressive towards humans and will usually avoid them and other animals larger then them. However some can be curious but still cautious and shy.
