Amy Pond's sonic probe as seen in The Girl Who Waited.

The phone used in this replica is the same as that used on the actual prop, a dummy version I bought on eBay.

The rest of the prop is made of household bits and bobs.

Whoa~ This is so cool! :3 I loved "The Girl Who Waited" episode of Doctor Who~ I loved it so much I asked my father to make me a replica of Amy's Sonic Probe! ^^ (I asked him because I can not make stuff like this for the life of me! -laughs-)

Good job! :D

Thank you very much.

How did your father's version turn out?

You're welcome~

Oh he's still working on it but he says it's going really well~ :D

when will they make a (ligt up with sound) sonic probe replica? they have to at some point. right?
Hordriss's avatar
But it would be a vac-formed custom molded thing, not made up of individual parts so it might lose the look and spirit of the actual prop.

hay, maybe they'll have a sonic probe toy.

Ok, now you have to do something like that for me! :D

Do you have a tutorial? x3

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm afraid I don't have a tutorial but I know there are a few people on the RPF making this prop, and to a better standard than mine, mine was made using fuzzy screencaps, now there are some better official pics out you should be able to make a good go of it. Look out for the trading card.

What model phone is that?

Oh nice! i think I had seen you post this on the RPF. Looks really close to the real prop to me.

The Doctor: Where did you get a Sonic Screwdriver?

Older Amy: I made it. And it's a Sonic Probe.

that is amazing!! Would you ever take commissions on things like this?
Hordriss's avatar
I really couldn't say, sometimes I enjoy making these things but mostly it's a case of just wanting the finished product, especially one not available or which probably won't ever be.

This one would be tricky, it would depend on how easy it is to get all of the parts together again, but if I can make it then anyone can, I'm no expert, I could put together some sort of instructions or a list of parts if you like?

It's okay, no worries. Ends up one of the doctors I costume with wants to try to make it for me after me makes a new sonic, so i think that he's going to try to make a semi-functioning one. (i'm concerned XD but excited)

But thank you!! Yours is so amazing!

Nice piece of work. Although I wouldn't be surprised if an actual replica was made for merchendising purposes...
