McCree's Ending:

I felt a gloved hand take mine. It was large and clearly strong, but I couldn't actually feel for any calluses, scars, or marks. The hand was clearly trying to be gentlemanly since it raised my hand up to a pair of lips.

I felt a beard on the tips of my fingers and the back of my hand could feel a slight bit more facial hair.

The person's lips were soft, smooth, but still slightly chapped. They were warm and his lips only barely touched my skin, showing that he wanted to be gentlemanly by not planting a wet one down onto the back of my hand.

"(Y/N), this is Jesse McCree. He basically looks like a stereotypical Clint Eastwood cowboy."

"I take that as a compliment, Lena," an accented voice answered and I remember the name. He was the one that carried me into the room earlier.

It was low, rumbly. A perfect base voice.

He had an accent that I assumed was southwestern America. Like around the New Mexico area.

He sounded kind, gentlemanly too so maybe he won't be all that bad.

"Good to meet you, Jesse."

"A pleasure to meet ya too, Darlin'," he replied back to me and I felt like I heard him reach up for something.

"Oh, I uh... just tipped my hat," Jesse explained his action and I smiled, laughing a little bit at how cute that sounded.

I heard Lena and another girl aw and I wonder what it was they were fawning about.

"What's wrong...?"

"I've never seen McCree blush before!"

I looked at where I assume my hand was and laughed again. Was he blushing? That's so cute!

"Hana! I am not blushing," Jesse whines while Lena and "Hana" laugh.

"Are so, old man!"

Old man? Huh, I guess Jesse's a bit older. That would explain his voice.

Jesse held my hand still, allowing my to fiddle with his gloved fingers while he and Hana went at it with a small argument while the others laughed.

I sat in my seat and smiled softly at all the sounds around me.

Everyone sounds so nice.

Like a big family.

I laughed softly to myself and covered my mouth so I wouldn't be rude.

Jesse's voice stopped and I heard him scoff.

"Don't laugh at me!"

"Sorry, Jesse," I busted up laughing at his whine and smiled.

Jesse helped me around the base, not leaving me by myself unless I was under Angela's watch.

"So (Y/N), are you adjusting well?"

Angela was unwrapping my leg finally, having told me I would finally be able to walk now instead of Jesse having to carry me all the time.

"Yeah. I'm doing ok. Jesse's been a real help."

"That's good. Glad to hear he hasn't driven you nuts yet with all the nicknames he gives you."

"Yeah, but I like them actually. I think my favorite was probably "doll" so far," I laugh and smiled, thinking of Jesse calling me "doll".

"You should tell him!"

"What?! No way! If I do that then he'll pester me with it so much that I'll get sick of it!"

"Aw, but it would be so adorable."

I could feel that my cheeks were flushed and I could feel Angela's prying stare into me.

She was not only my nurse but had grown into one of my best friends since she was so kind and fun to talk to whenever Jesse couldn't look after me.

She nagged me for a few minutes longer about him before she sighed in annoyance.

She finally unwrapped my leg, then moving to work on my lower thigh, unwrapping that as well.

"Alright. You're all set, (Y/N). Hey, Jesse!"

Angela yelled and I heard the infirmary door open immediately, the cowboy's tell tale sound of metal spurs walking towards me.

"She all good now?"

"Yup. She can walk now actually if she tries."

"Really?! That's great!"

Jesse was obviously beaming by how he sounded as he put a hand on my arm, gently pulling me to my feet.

He kept both his hands on my forearms to help me balance before he gently started to put space between us, allowing me to take a few practice steps.

I got used to it pretty fast and soon enough I was running around excitedly, bumping into pretty much everything in the room since my eyes were still blocked. Jesse had let me go so that I could have my fun, not moving from where he was.

"Look at you go, Doll!"

Jesse cheered, walking up next to me and taking my hand so that I knew which side he was on. I smiled and held it happily, bouncing on my feet a little.

"Hey hey! Be careful! You're not fully healed yet!"

"Yeah yeah," I waved off Angela who just laughed and I can almost bet she rolled her eyes.

She nagged me about how to take care of my leg before allowing Jesse to lead me out of the infirmary. His job was to make sure I didn't bump into people and walls by pulling on or pushing my hand.

He leads me around for a bit to get used to walking before he took me to the only room I knew I could get to without help.

The training room.

Jesse had been trying to teach me to fire a gun for the last few days.

Yep.

Teaching a blind person how to fire a gun.

A+ effort.

Million dollar idea.

As long as he's happy I guess.

He lead me to the center of the training room where he always did and faced me towards the targets he told me were

I felt Jesse let go of my hand and walk away, probably going to get bullets, after he handed me his Peacemaker.

I stayed where I was, suddenly feeling very vulnerable as I held the gun close to me so I wouldn't drop it. I couldn't feel the presence of anything around me and I couldn't reach out for any walls.

Jesse wasn't next to me anymore so he couldn't help me.

"J-Jesse....?"

I got no response.

Jesse would always answer me.

The silence was deafening.

I felt tears gathering in my eyes as a sense of complete and total isolation hit me.

No one could hear me.

I was alone.

Where am I again...?

Where's the wall...?

Where's Jesse?!

"J-Jesse! Jesse, where are you?!"

I felt panic, fear, and the horrible feeling of being completely alone in silence. I used my arms to feel around in the air for something to hold onto. A person, a chair, a wall, anything.

I continued to call for Jesse loudly but it wasn't working.

Soon enough I started to break down.

I was screaming, anxiety, and fear running like a river through my veins. I felt my knees collapse and I hit the floor, curling in on myself as

I continued to cry and scream for the cowboy in question.

I dropped Peacemaker next to me so I could hug myself close.

He wouldn't leave me all alone right?

He's just playing a stupid prank, right?

The sound of jangling spurs sounded from what I assume is the hallway and I heard them turn the corner into the room. I could hear that he had been running due to his fast breathing and his spurs were jingling more as he moved.

"Darlin'! What's wrong?! What happened?"

Jesse!

I listened for his movement in my panic to get his location exactly before managing to feel around on the floor for his feet. He'd stopped right in front of me.

He knelt down I think because I found his knee next on the floor.

"Hey hey, shh. It's ok. I'm right here, Darlin'. Calm down," He soothed and pulled me into his hold to comfort me.

I slowly calmed down, not allowing myself to be separate from him at the moment. I just needed the confirmation that he was there.

"What happened?"

He eventually asked once I had quit crying for the most part.

"I-I was... I was all alone and I thought you abandoned me and-"

He cut me off there and put both his hands on my back. He softly rubbed circles into it to soothe me before speaking.

"You're not alone, Doll. I'm here. I just had to go get something."

"Thank you... I'm sorry..."

"It's ok... Just calm down."

"Thanks, Jesse."

He let me stay where I was for a few minutes so that I knew I was completely calm.

"You ok now, Doll?"

"Yeah... I'm ok."

"Don't do that ever again. You about gave me a heart attack," he sighed and shifted to lean on the wall, resting with me in his hold.

"Sorry."

"It's fine. Just relax. Everything is fine now."

Today's finally the day. I can't wait! My bandages come off today.

I bounced my leg nervously, shifting around as I waited for Angela to tell me that she was ready to see me.

"Doll, calm down."

I felt Jesse's hand brush over my leg softly to assure me that he was there, not letting me get too anxious. After my break down a few days ago, he hasn't let me out of his sight to make sure I don't throw myself into a panic attack.

"But Jesse, I'll finally get to see again today! A week and a half in these really make you miss the light!"

"I know. I also have a bit of a gift planned out for you. I'll let you find it," he told me mischievously.

"Gift?"

"You'll see."

"Jesse!"

"Nope. Ya have to wait."

I was about to tell Jesse off for making me anxious about waiting but Angela interrupted me before I could.

"You ready, Fledgling?"

"Yep!"

Jesse had been quiet, I imagine with a pretty confused face before asking, "Fledgling?"

Angela walked out of the room after I heard Jesse scoff in annoyance. She must've rolled her eyes or something. She hadn't answered him so Jesse turned to me with a huff.

"(Y/N), what the hell is a Fledgling?"

I smiled and laughed a little bit, deciding to explain it.

"It's a baby bird basically. She started calling me that because I'm a little person that has to be protected and watched over for now but when I get my bandages off I'll be able to be free and do things on my own without help!"

"Free... I uh... I see. Um... Darlin' are you sure you wanna-" Jesse began to say, rubbing the back of his head. I can hear his hair rustling.

"(Y/N)! Do you want your bandages off or not?!"

Angela called from the other room and I jumped, "Y-Yes! I'm coming!"

I stood up and heard Jesse shoot up too, taking my hand carefully. He leads me to Angela's office before my hand was passed into her's.

She told Jesse to wait outside in the infirmary initially but after several minutes of loud western protests, he was allowed to stay in the room.

Angela used something cold and metallic to cut the bandages away, explaining at it's possible that I've actually lost my sight completely.

Jesse nervously bounced his leg in the chair in front of me, his spurs giving it away with their jingling.

"Jesse, calm down...," I softly told him again, picking up his hand after I felt around for it.

"Sorry..."

Angela cut the last bandage and carefully removed them from my eyes, instructing me to keep my eyes closed until she told me to open them.

I felt Jesse's hand squeeze mine before he let go, standing up and grabbing something off of Angela's desk. I don't know what it is but it sounds pretty light weight.

I felt something he placed onto my head and reached a hand up to feel it, only to have Jesse grab it quickly and pull it down so I wouldn't touch it.

"Patience, Darlin'."

I groaned loudly in annoyance, allowing Angela to do a few more things as small tests to make sure I was ok to open my eyes.

It took a little bit, but she finally told me I was allowed to open them.

The light was blinding in the office but it was blacked out pretty quick by someone standing directly in front of me.

My eyes slowly adjusted and I managed to catch sight of a belt buckle in front of me that read "BAMF" on it.

Jesse?

I slowly opened my eyes a little bit more, allowing more light and greater detail to reach my eyes before I was able to see a cybernetically enhanced cowboy in front of me, holding my hand tight.

Lena's descriptions of him on the first day were spot on.

He, however, was much more handsome than the actor she chose to use in the analogy. He had rough, strong, manly features that stood out a lot, to me. His outfit was a little silly but his strong features, large muscles, and sharp eyes proved that he was a force to be reckoned with.

Right now, he isn't smiling. He had a concerned frown on his face. Like one of a scolding father but I know he isn't mad. He's just worried and trying to figure out if I can actually see him.

"...Jesse?"

His face's hard, gruff look melted as soon as his name rolled off my tongue.

"Heya Darlin'... how's your eyes?" He asked me pretty gently, kneeling down so that he was eye level with me in my chair.

I felt myself grin, "Well I can see you. So that's a good sign."

Jesse let out a laugh before letting my hand go.

"You can look at your gift now," he told me,  allowing me finally to reach up for the thing on my head.

It was a hat.

It felt a lot like the one I managed to get off of Jesse several days ago.

A smooth cowboy hat with a few small pins on it.

I took it off my head and held it out in front of me.

It was just like Jesse's only slightly lighter in color and based more on a feminine design.

"Jesse... it's perfect! I love it!"

I put the hat back on to my head and hugged the older cowboy, wrapping my smaller arms around his neck to that I could hold onto him.

He was pretty shocked at first, but as he processed what was happening, he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back. I heard him let out a relieved sigh, squeezing me a little tighter.

"That's good. Hats like that have to be custom made," he boasted proudly.

"Well, I love it!"

I was so happy.

"I think it looks mighty fine on you. Although, beautiful people like you would look good in anything."

"B-Beautiful?"

"Yep, my babe's absolutely gorgeous."

"...Babe...?!"

"Mmhm. I love you, Babe."

Jesse didn't give me a chance to really respond for a moment since he brought his face to mine, making sure I couldn't speak by putting a pair of warm lips over mine. They were surprisingly soft for how he looks but he clearly had kissed many people before me since he seemed to know exactly what to do to make my heart melt.

It felt a little weird because of his facial hair but I didn't make anymore to reject it. I felt my whole face turn red and I stumbled over my words when he finally released me.

"J-Jesse... I uh I... um..."

"Yes, Babe?"

My face was growing hotter and probably redder. I shoved my face into his chest to try and hide as I spoke.

"I love you too, Cowboy."

~Bonus (Jesse hearing (Y/N) calling for him.)~

I left (Y/N) for a second, not letting her know where I was going. I didn't want her to know I was trying to find a tape measurer. I need to get her head size for the hat I was having made for her.

I can still feel her hand in mine.

It's so tiny and soft.

I had quit wearing my gloves two days ago just so that i'd be able to feel them. Their warmth, their texture, and anything and everything about them.

It's pretty easy to get her to let go of my hand since I can just slip it right out without too many problems.

I walked down the hall as fast as I could, managing to find what I was looking for when I asked Ana. She always had one in her room.

I was walking back when I heard a soft sound coming from the training room I left (Y/N) in a minute ago.

"(Y/N)?" I picked up my pace just a little, now jogging carefully.

"J-Jesse? Jesse where are you!" She was screaming. I could hear her wails getting louder, more frightened.

I broke out into a dead sprint, running as fast as I could to her.

She's not hurt, right?

Talon's not here, right?

I flew through the open doorway and found my Darling on the floor, curled into a ball and shaking.

I rushed over to her side and pulled her close, whispering soft things to her until she calmed down.

She explained how worried and scared she was while I calm her and I can't help but smile.

She's safe. She's not hurt.

Man...

What am I going to do with you, (Y/N)?
