Description
There are a number of ways to fill space. The most well known way is with cubical or rectangular bricks.
There are also alternating octahedron and tetrahedron bricks (octet).
Another space filling brick is the truncated octahedron. I call this brick "bridge" since it is a bridge between cubic and octet structures. This is demonstrated to the right of the image where the red structure is octet, the yellow truncated octahedra and the blue structure is cubic.

I hope one day truncated octahedra will be the bridge that will allow my octet toy [link] to dwell with Legos (TM).
