Artemis New Registration

Artemis is a sad, salty, nihilist grandpa with a number of very weird secrets. He's pretty large as far as flufferbuns go, and surprisingly muscular for his age. This, combined with his cynical way of talking and dark sense of humor can make him seem somewhat intimidating, but he's genuinely just tired and isn't looking to make problems (trust me, he's got enough of them already). By default he tends to act in a paternal manner to those he befriends and may need gentle reminders to not joke about how earthly life is meaningless.

Unearthly magic called this bun to the cosmos at a very young age. Artemis spent much of younger years tinkering with arcane artifacts, exploring strange and ancient ruins, and attempting to contact creatures not meant for this realm. Although he was usually very careful, a careless mistake in his early adulthood left him bound to a larval eldritch monstrosity. For the most part, it doesn't bother him and is mostly concealed aside from its tail in his and its eye on his forehead; as far as he's concerned, it's allowed to live in him as long as it isn't rude. After another close call a few years later, Artemis decided to cease his active experimenting and exploring, and stick to his books and telescopes.

Artemis owns and operates a massive library across the street from Ana's smoothie joint. Despite the many years of practicing magic, he's retired to his library now and lends his massive collection of books out to the town's residents, or at least ones that he trusts. Anyone is welcome to come in and read books there, though. He'll still use magic when he sees it necessary, but keeps his research on the subject limited to books and observations at this point.

Kier is is somewhat obsessive biggest fan. Artemis's cynicism does little to deter his obnoxious questions about his explorations, but they share a dry and dark sense of humor. He's taken on a fatherly role to Safir, who works in his library. Because he was unable to have children of his own, he (somewhat secretly) cherishes his employee despite her spoiled demeanor and whiny voice. He's seen Koko and Anana around but doesn't know them well.

INVENTORY

Necklace: A dried bird's foot he found on his first expedition. He does not like to talk about its significance, but he's rarely seen without it.

Larva: The larva is semi-parasitic; it feeds, albeit slowly, on Artemis's blood, so he takes iron supplements and has to be careful to stay hydrated. Its eye emerges from a scarred area in the center of Artemis's forehead, and its body follows the length of his spine, between the vertebral column and his organs. Its tail is cold and wet to the touch, and sends a static-like sensation up your arm if you touch it. Artemis keeps it covered with his tail during daylight hours. Some of Artemis's behavior may lead one to believe that the larva communicates to him in some manner, but he vehemently denies this.
