So I joined Pottermore. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, and got a Redwood wand with Unicorn hair. I'm pretty happy about it all. :D
For the sake of a journal update and some conversation I thought I'd tell you all. Is anyone else on Pottermore, tell me about it?
... Or am I too old to be doing this? >.>
I love April Fools. I love what all the Internet and newspapers and stuff do. Do you remember So I Herd U Lyk Mudkipz? This year, it looks like it's deviantHEART - a dating site for artists.
Feel free to tell me of other amusing April Fools day shenanigans below.
Wow, I just noticed I have exactly 12k pageviews on my humble little profile. I think the accepted thing to do is have a little prize for the person who catches the 10k, which obviously I have failed to do, having been hella busy this year. However, it is summer, I have delicious free time. To not prolong this any further I shall set the thank-you art gift-commissionly doodah at 12, 050 pageviews. If you screenshot that and show me I will do you arts at your request! :meow: I am mainly thinking portrait or OC type-stuff, but if you are super-lucky and in Australia, I may even do you shoes, if you so desire.
Merci mille fois to you all who ha
Yeah, it's been nearly a year between journals. Still uke-ing. I have a new, much better ukulele now, so Ringo is retired. My new uke is called Patrick Henri Fitzwilliam. I couldn't choose between those three names. Lucky Fitzwilliam works as a last name as well as a first. (Literary Examples; Fitzwilliam Darcy from Pride and Prej, and Aubrey Fitzwilliam from the Laws of Magic series. Both of which are brilliant by the way!)
Also, fairly big news is that I'm going back to school. Yay! Long story short; I hated my old job, so I applied for a Graduate Diploma of Education course in September. I quit my full time job in November, was acce
Because I found one in the hall closet! It used to be my sister's when she was three or something, but it's been in the cupboard for over ten years and we'd forgotten about it.
I discovered it a fortnight ago and so far am moderately competent in three songs. :D The first song my friend taught me was Creep by Radiohead. Bwahahaha. It actually translated to uke quite well.
I then taught myself Hallelujah and am working on Build Me Up, Buttercup.
... My fingertips are sore, but I will say that the nylon strings are at least softer than the metal ones, for a certain period of time.
I have called him Ringo, and stuck a Beatles sticker o
My dog Molly, who is adorable and who has been a part of the family for over ten years is being put down tomorrow, because the cancer that she had an operation for a month and a half back has returned already.
I would be more eloquent but I'm too busy being a mess and crying at random times throughout the day. Eloquence is for when it doesn't hurt so much.
I just can't believe tomorrow she'll be gone. For ever.
This is not going to help me recover from my body's overload spazz from work and too much extracurricular activity. (Doctor said at least a week off work. I got scarily lethargic. My body just didn't want to move)
I feel happyyyy!
In case you DON'T RECOGNISE those quotes (shame on you) it is the "I'm not dead yet" guy from Monty Python's Holy Grail.
So yeah. I'm not dead yet.
My NaNoWriMo attempt has kind of been hijacked by the pirates of busy-ness but unbeknownst to them (the dark fiends!) I have ferreted away many ideas and inspirations and am secretly still working on it, but discreetly and over the course of several months.
If you want to read my NaNo idea anyways, here 'tis. http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/715455
I will forever be in debt to Snow Patrol for the first part of their epic 11 or 15 minute track "The Lightning Strike"
Yep. But sometimes I forget to breathe. Like when I'm concentrating real hard on my dance routine. XD I need one of those blonde tapes that go "Breathe in... breathe out... breathe in... breathe out"
Dancing: Honours in bronze New Vogue, High Distinction for Silver Modern Waltz and Foxtrot.
People I owe art to: Lots. But the ones I can remember are

So I mightn't be around for a while until I get used to it, because it's in the city, so I have to get up at 5:30am and be on the train before 6:30 because I start work at 8am. Ouch, yeah?
Creative output will also be down for a while until my crushing exhaustion receeds. :noes:
On the upside. Monies! I shall have them.
Love you all! Have a llama. :llama:
And it's HARD! Man. I wasn't expecting it to be that hard. (Granted, I painted a vase when I was seven, it was hard, and the vase turned out crap, but I thought it might have been easier now I'm 14 years older.)
I thought maybe it would be like watercolour, and it issss kind of. But you can't drag the colours like you can in watercolour. The ceramic just drinks it up and that's it.
Maybe I shouldn't have tried for such a complicated picture. I'll post it up next week when I collect it so you can see. >.<
It was still fun though, despite the frustratingness.
Wow, it's been nearly six months since I updated the ole journal. Ironic, really, considering I'm unemployed, so I'm more at home than I've ever been.
Anyway, I'm alive! And I'm about to embark on a new endeavor: watercolour portraits. I've been reading up on a lot of tutorials, and yesterday I bought an A4 watercolour pad, since my other paper is teeny tiny, really. Wish me luck! :meow:
Also, it's nearly birthday tiem for ~nixola (https://www.deviantart.com/nixola) AND! And and and :iconhaveyouseenmyname: :cake:
Ask of me an artisty boon and I shall essay to grant it!
I've decided to be more leniant to summer. It's not that bad. Except I don't like 42 degrees celcius days at a camp with no air conditioning. Those days still suck.
But you know, it's really quite pretty.
I realised I hadn't done a journal since October last year, so here is a new one.
I guess I should also let you know that I got honours on my bronze latin american dance exam. =]
Life is good, and I'm still working one day a week at the independant publishers where I did my work experience.
