I've been looking at colleges...someone slap me across the face and tell me what I want to do with my life. Then tell me why my parents won't let me get a job soon when COLLEGE IS SO EFFING EXPENSIVE.

No to art college. In my experience qualifications from there aren't worth jack shit. Because 'art' is such a wide ranging thing people who only draw scribbles (or 'abstract' as they call it) will be able to get exactly the same qualification as more 'technical' artists *holds in urge to call them 'proper artists' instead* which degrades the whole thing. Also most art jobs are freelance, which means unless you are godly or very lucky you can't live off it, you'll have to get a bog-standard job as well.

I suggest the writing course as it's less based around 'skill', if you get me. For example my art qualifications don't really tell that I'm a good artist, I'd have to show examples, where as a creative writing degree is pretty solid, and will also help with getting a bog-standard job.

Also, no offence, but in my opinion your writing is stronger than your art.

Ah, that's true D; the jobs are freelance. I was doing some research on that. Guess I forgot.
I hate abstract art ._. honestly it's ugly. So is American cartooning XD though there's a possibility that I'm a bit biased there.
Thanks :3 I'll think about that then.
Well...that makes sense. I've been writing since I was four and I've only been drawing for a couple of years ^^; it would be stronger. I used to write and illustrate little picture books when I was a kid. And then I tried to write a novel every month or so in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.
If my writing wasn't stronger, I would be very surprised XD

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF sell my art? XDD that won't work. The people that actually do buy it pay about 2 bucks for it D; it'll neverrrr work.
I'm sorry for shooting down your idea XDD

Yeah ^^
Whoa, cool! Just out of curiosity....what kind of grades did you have? ^^; I mean, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but my parents have turned me into some paranoid little person. According to them, C's are the devil and won't get me into college. B's are too according to my mum but not my dad :icondizzyplz:
Thanks~

Actually, I made average of average (Mostly Bs, one A (I think), and probably one/two C). ._. Your parents are so freaky paranoid it's not even funny.

But IU tended to care more about the money than the grades actually, at least in IUS. Just make sure you take SAT (again, they don't care about the score-just that you took it and did your best. Fun fact here-I actually got the score below than what they've claimed to have wanted and I still got in :O).

Again, this is more for IUS since I'm not sure how other IU's work. :hmm:

But really though-just try your best.

Your parents are crazy. Too much expectations?

That's good <3 I was all worried I feel slightly more relieved now XD
They are really paranoid....they probably are just trying to scare me into getting good grades though.
Now I'm more relieved XD I'm REALLY worried about SATs and how it will affect college and whatnot. Though, I get worried about pretty much all my tests. I'm not a very good tester. Especially in science and math.
Hopefully they work the same or similar.
Thanks ^^ I will.
They are...and they do have really high expectations.
