Chapter Two: A Meeting Under Moonlight Further up! A voice screamed in Jacob’s head as he started up the staircase for the balcony. Without his flashlight, he was forced to trust his eyes as best he could in the darkness–which wasn’t very well. Once he nearly lost his footing on the wood-paneled steps, but caught himself in time to avert a nasty fall. He had just reached the balcony when he heard the gates close heavily. The monster was here–it was in the mansion. Jacob crouched on the floor, holding his breath. Waiting. He strained his ears for any sound from the hall below, but could hear none. Where was the giant now? And where was he going? Jacob would’ve given all of those fifty dollars for either answer, but as it was he knew nothing. His own shaky breath sounded loud, too loud, in the surrounding silence. At least by now his eyes had adjusted, a little, to the darkness. Spring arrived in a trill— What a thrill— Lilting off the tongue Of a young Robin. It strutted in spiritual swirls and baton twirls. Catching a breeze, floating with ease, until it stumbled onto thunder’s stage. The whole sky leaned in, amazed at its performance— then the mike dropped, heralding the season. It tumbled its verdant head over high pink heels, falling with rain in warm, heavy drops. It arrived, waking the earth up again.

I'm keeping this stamp up despite it no longer reflecting my personal beliefs. At this time 150 people have favourited this stamp, and I see no reason why I should delete it for them just because of how I feel myself.
