Youth

Born as a single pup to a flareon in Veilstone City, she was shocked to see that her pup, who she named Adonia for the beauty she saw in him, had Victini traits. Adonis would learn that his father was a Luxray named Storm that escaped Team Galactic, where they failed to turn him into “some weapon,” in his own words. Storm had left Calida before realizing that she was with child, the two of them only having a relationship for a few weeks. Now looking back on it, Calida realized that whatever they had done to him must have involved Victini DNA, passing it on to their own child.

Worried for her child's safety, Calida decided to travel all the way to Jubilife City, farther away from Veilstone where so many Team Galactic members live. As they began their journey, they'd pass through forests, where Calida would teach Adonis how to forage for food. He learned some basics of surviving in the wild. Such as how there were always plenty of tasty berries if you looked hard enough for them!

When they arrived at Solaceon Town, Calida would mostly stay on the outskirts... but she wanted to show Adonis a way to get some good food. She'd have him wait in the brush, knowing they'd likely catch the interests of some trainer if he was by her side. Regardless, she'd walk up to an older couple sitting on a bench, flash some Baby-doll Eyes, and return to Adonis with a pawful of pokepuffs. Adonis had never tasted something so sweet! He couldn't wait to try out his mother's trick on his own! Though Calida smiled, there was a sad glint in her eyes that went unnoticed by the young Victeevee, Adonis was no ordinary pokemon like her... he'd have to risk being caught by trainers or resort to thievery if he were ever on his own.

They left Solaceon and continued on their way. They'd stop in another forest area for the night, the gentle trickle of a nearby stream lulling Adonis to sleep. But he wouldn't get to sleep long as Calida woke him up in the middle of the night, nudging him into a bush and hiding him there. She'd turn around, now facing a houndoom and mightyena only a few yards away. They wore black collars with a Golden G... Adonis rubbed his tired eyes open... apparently they meant business. Calida and then shared a few words... tense...

A fight broke out, the houndoom lunging at his mother with Fire Fang. Calida would lash out at them, fire swirling about her paws and spewing out her mouth. The battle would go on for minutes, Calida holding her own out of pure desperation–only hoping she could protect her child. Finally the mightyena fainted, but Calida still had the houndoom to worry about. So she braced for their next attack, worried that this could be the end of her... undoubtedly, Calida was shocked when Adonis leaped from the brush, landing a Quick Attack square on the houndoom's forehead. This would stun the dark/fire type, giving Calida and Adonis an opening to run.

As they made it to Hearthome City, Calida would express just how proud she was of Adonis, but Adonis was more confused and worried than anything. Winning had been exciting... but why had they been attacked in the first place? Calida was quiet... then began to explain what Team Galactic was. A horrible organization which sought to capture more pokemon and recruits through any means necessary so they could increase their power in the region. They had done horrible things to his father, and they would do horrible things to Adonis too if they got their hands on him. Calida warned him to never get caught up with the likes of Team Galactic. Following that, there was a solemn quiet between mother and son. Calida would find a nice, sheltered alleyway to sleep in for the night.

In the morning, they'd spend time healing, scrounging for food, and enjoying what Hearthome City had to offer. But even in such a welcoming and warm city, evil lurked in the shadows, Calida spotting more Team Galactic pokemon prowling the streets as night began to fall. So they left.

Jubilife City
[death/blood warning]

It would take another few weeks of traveling until they finally ended up in Jubilife City, a bustling metropolis! Adonis was amazed by just how big it was. This was the city Calida was born in, where she only traveled outside of it to see what else the region had to offer. It wasn't always nice to the stray pokemon which lived in it, but it was big enough where one could thrive if they knew the city well enough.

This would be Adonis's home for the rest of his youth, where he became more brave and spirited--quite the pawful for Calida. Always running and flitting about the streets, searching for tasty food and pretty accessories for his mom. He was determined to be her protector too, and even ended up evolving into a sylveon while protecting her from some thief. Calida was so excited for him and thought it was the cutest thing! How many pokemon evolved from a mother's love?

But their joy wouldn't last forever. It all ended in a blink of an eye. A Krookodile… Standing over his mother's limp body, blood staining their teeth, staring Adonis down with narrowed eyes. The gold G they wore around their neck shimmered in the city's lights. Even on the other side of the region, Team Galactic wrought terror onto pokemon.

Jubilife City, his home, had never felt so strange. As if all its glimmering signs were glaring down at Adonis. Blinding him. The whispers and exclamations from other stray pokemon only overwhelmed him more. Everything was so loud.

Adonis let out a horrible scream, followed by flames erupting from his form, engulfing the surrounding alleyway. It hadn't much effect on the Krookodile in front of him--but it gave him time to run. Picking Calida up with his ribbons and laying her on his back, he surged forward, wanting to get as far away as possible. His legs gave out beneath him as he reached the city limits, toppling over onto the soft grass.

He awoke not long after and got to work. Finding a nice burial spot for his mom--beneath a tree and close to a stream. Adonis had forgotten how peaceful the wilds could be at times. Either way, he had no plan to return to Jubilife City, at least not anytime soon. So he began to wander, sticking to the forests and the routes that went through it. He knew that Calida would want him to be happy, so he did his best to return to some sort of normalcy.

On His Own

As Adonis became an adult and began to enter towns and small cities in search of food and company. He'd form a few relationships--though none ever lasted too long. Adonis could be flirty at times, but he always wanted a long term relationship, not just a fling as some of his partners expected. In fact, his longest relationship lasted a few months, his partner being a liepard named Kieran. He resided in Eterna City, so Adonis would stay there for the time that he dated him. Adonis would steal the best food and items for the liepard, such acts of service seemed to make Kieran the happiest! However, Kieran eventually got bored with Adonis, backstabbing him one day to make off with a bigger meal than he would've gotten by sharing it with Adonis. Eh... the Sylvini couldn't even be surprised. So he moved on.

During this time Adonis would occasionally steal a few TMS from department stores. He couldn’t use all of them, so he’d use those to bargain with other pokemon who could… but overtime, he came across some he could use! His favorites being Mystical Fire and Calm Mind, they were quite useful especially with how he was more geared to special attacks.

More years passed, and Adonis was visiting Canaclave City,a port city known for its trade. Adonis was always excited to peruse through the various goods available. Spotting some pretty sweaters and blankets, Adonis figured they'd be good to barter with furless pokemon. Adonis creeped towards it... snatching a sweater and blanket from the stand... and while he was making his escape, he'd suddenly feel the ground give under him--or more like he was suddenly floating. He looked up, meeting a Zoroark's disappointed gaze. She had picked him up while he thought he was making a clever escape.

"Ya like stealin' from old folks?" She huffed. Adonis' cheeks flushed, what an embarrassing question, how was he supposed to answer that? He stuttered in response,"I... uh.. hmm... yes?" he shrugged, an uncertain smile on his maw. The Zoroark rolled her eyes and sighed. "Look, 'ah can see a desperate 'mon when one's right in front of me. My trainers are always takin' in well meanin' 'mons such as yaself." She put him down, placing a hand on her hip,"Ya can follow us back if ya want. Just no more stealin'. You'll get fed an' get to enjoy green meadows. Maybe you'll even get a purpose if ya help out around the farm." She finished. Now, Adonis didn't like getting called desperate, but he never had such an offer before either. The thought never occurred to him that he could have a home. Even in Jubilife City, Adonis and his mother were always on the move.

Adonis was let go, and when the Zoroark and the old couple she called her trainers began to pack up at dusk, he was there, watching from a distance. Adonis followed them to their farm.

Farmlife

The first night Adonis slept near the treeline, looking into the farm, and when he awoke, he contemplated leaving. The idea was just... too good. He was a crook, surely the Zoroark had been playing a trick on him. He gave the farm one last look, but met eyes with the Zoroark's own instead. She was already up, tending to mareep and wooloo. She smiled and waved him over... and Adonis followed after her.

He spent a lot of time with the Zoroark, learning that her name was Emmeline and how she bred to be a show pokemon--though she much preferred this life over what could've been. Adonis was moved to realize how Emmeline found her own happiness and didn’t follow the supposed destiny she was born into. Adonis never thought he could be more than a stray and thief, for that was what he was born as, never could he trust a human less he took the risk of being experimented on due to, not only being a fusion, but also being a mythical fusion. It was a strange predicament, Adonis never even felt more than a sylveon at times, but he had to be more wary than others because he was part… Victini… or whatever. But Emmeline’s caretakers were nice, and treated him as they would any other stray, never showing interest in what profit Adonis could give them. Adonis was comfortable, and even opened up to Emmeline about his own past.

Emmeline began to teach Adonis how to work on the farm, though he was never as good a herder as her, he would help sheer the mareep and wooloo to give their elderly caretakers a break. He’d even go into the house at times, and learn of the fantastic world of cooking. Adonis always loved stealing various kinds of food, but now he could make it for him and Emmeline! He quickly learned various recipes, making use of his prehensile ribbons. Over the first few months, he became quite the excellent cook and baker.

Adonis was head over heels for Emmeline, he’d always try to impress her with farmwork, but she was always more proficient at that. So he’d try to be romantic, giving her flowers, making her pokepuffs, and playfully flirting with her pretty as she worked. Though Emmeline simply humored him at first, she began to slowly fall in love with him, too. Eventually, this culminated in the usually calm and mild-mannered Zoroark blurting out if Adonis wanted to be her mate. And, though shocked, Adonis responded with an eager “Yes!”

Then came the day that Adonis had an egg with Emmeline, and that egg would hatch as a wonderful zorua/victini fusion. Emmeline named her Darlene. Darlene became the joy to Adonis’ life, and though he wasn’t on the farm as often as her mother, Adonis would always play with Darlene whenever he came by–or make her her favorite foods and snacks. Adonis was happy. He saw so much of his younger self in his child.

Darlene got older. Trouble cropped up on the farm. Wooloo and mareep were going missing, but there was no sign on who could have been causing the disappearances. Adonis was worried for his mate and child, but remained calm, he’d sure they’d all overcome this.

Pyre
[death/blood/gore warning]

He awoke one night to the barn he was sleeping to on fire. For a moment, he was shocked into silence, then took in a deep breath as it began to crumble around him. Where was Emmeline and Darene? He shouted for their names all the while struggling to get out of the burning barn. When he finally had, he’d run out into the clearing, coughing from all the smoke he inhaled, tears stinging his eyes. “DARLENE…! EMMELINE…!” he cried, desperately searching for his mate and child. That was when his gaze landed on Emmeline’s body, struggling to breathe and coughing up blood. “No…No…” He whispered, hurrying over to her side as she took her last breaths. Emmeline turned to look up at him with kind eyes, giving him one last smile. With a shuddered breath, Emmeline passed.

Adonis was shocked, he nudged her, tears filling his eyes. “Em… please, Emmeline,” He choked up, beginning to sob. He came to a sudden stop as he glanced up from Emmeline’s body, noticing a trail of blood leading into the forest. His brows furrowed, feeling a great amount of hatred and anger swelling within him. A Pyroar. Oh. He was going to kill him.

He took off, running into the forest after his family’s murderer. It was all a blur to him as he caught up and began a violent battle with the Pyroar. Adonis has no recollection of what he or the Pyroar did, only remembering the end of their battle: where he pinned the Pyroar, standing over him, and now missing his right eye. It was then that Adonis realized something that he hadn’t before. He was a mythical. He had only truly considered himself a sylveon before, but now he was faced with his own power, the Pyroar cowering beneath him. Adonis looked up.

There were female pyroars and litleos surrounding them, watching with bated breath. Adonis looked back down, meeting the pyroar’s eyes, true fear in his gaze. Could he truly kill this father in front of his own children and mates? Suddenly, a grimace contorted Adonis’ face, pure rage in his remaining eye. He had not considered the same mercy for Darlene and Emmeline.

With a shout, Adonis performed Searing Shot, bringing a quick end to the pyroar’s life.

Aftermath
[death warning]

Adonis was forever changed from that moment. Not only did he realize his own powers and abilities, but he found a new purpose, avenging those who were too weak to avenge themselves. Killing the Pyroar did not bring him joy, but it did calm him to know that no other family would meet his family’s fate. His first thought was to return to Jubilife City and find the Krookodile that killed his mother, and put pokemon who had similar evil intentions in their place.

After weeks of searching, Adonis finally found the Krookodile. They proved to be formidable due to the type matchup, especially as Adonis was still adjusting to being half-blind. However, they’d meet the same fate as the Pyroar. He felt hollow as blood stained his paws, but he was convinced that this was something he had to do, it was his burden to carry.

He’d continue to live in Jubilife City, but what started with good intentions became twisted. Adonis was filled with grief, resentment, and hatred. He stayed on course for the first few years, but then he began to maim and kill anyone he considered had done something wrong. Even robbing another pokemon became a crime worthy of death in his eyes. His life became a blur. To others, Adonis became a threat, a monster to be avoided.

One day, Adonis would wake up, see his reflection in a pond, and realize he was decades older than he thought himself to be, having no idea of how many lives he could have taken. And yet he would press on. This was his purpose, afterall.

Return

Adonis would find himself in Eterna City one morning, stopping in his path as a van turned a corner–too quickly–and fell onto its side. Its backdoors flung open, cages rolling onto the road. Short behind them, were pokemon wearing black bandanas and a red R. Freeing these pokemon, he supposed. But one caught his eye, a realization that made his heart stop for a moment.

“Darlene?”

He softly muttered, wondering if his eyes deceived him. Before he knew it, the pokemon in the bandanas were gone, running into Eterna Forest. He followed suit, but they disappeared in the thick of the forest. The rage that once clouded his mind began to clear, there was a spark in his eyes as he began to ask around: who were those pokemon? Soon enough he’d learn more about them. A pokemon-only branch of Team Rocket–and there was one ‘mon willing to guide him to the Hideout itself so Adonis may join.

As he was inducted into the Hideout, Adonis appears to have returned to a state similar to when his family was whole–when he was happy. He is now aware of all the horrible things he has done, and the guilt eats away at him, but he prefers to hide that side of him. Adonis was given a second chance to become a better pokemon and reclaim the life he once had, and he did not intend to let it slip his grasp.
