Huehuecanauhtlus tiquichensis was a hadrosauroid (related to Gilmoreosaurus, it seems) whose remains were found in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It lived around 85 million years ago.
It is not only the first endemic ornithopod genus from Mexico, but also the first dinosaur with a name in nahuatl (the language of the Aztec); Huehuecanauhtlus means "ancient duck".
What excites me most is that Michoacán is very close to Jalisco (my home state) so it may be that dinosaur remains will soon be found here too!
Second Huehuecanauhtlus in DA (this time :iconkarkemish00: beat me to it).

The rate at which these new animals are unearthed astounds me.

Especially considering how slowly they are described and announced :D

For all we know, a new species could have been unearthed right now and we wouldn't know about it until 2015.
